◆ 7월 1일 서해구·검단구 새 행정체계 출범
강범석 인천 서구청장은 1일 신년사를 통해 "행정체제 개편에 따른 큰 변화의 흐름 속에서도 흔들림 없이 새로운 미래를 향해 나아가겠다"고 밝혔다. 강 구청장은 "올해 민선 8기의 마지막 6개월은 그간의 성과를 마무리하고 분구 이후 서해구와 검단구의 미래를 준비하는 중요한 시기"라고 말했다. 그는 "7월 1일 서구는 '서해구'라는 새 이름으로, 검단지역은 '검단구'로 각각 새로운 행정체계를 갖추게 된다"며 "5월 임시청사 입주를 시작으로 분구 첫날부터 모든 행정서비스가 중단 없이 제공될 수 있도록 하겠다"고 밝혔다.
◆ 교통·환경·복지 등 6대 중점 과제 추진
강 구청장은 2026년 중점 추진 과제로 ▲분구의 안정적 출범과 행정 공백 최소화 ▲광역·생활교통 체계 완성도 제고 ▲녹색도시 조성·생활환경 개선 가속화 ▲문화·관광 기반 확충 ▲복지·돌봄 안전망 강화 ▲핵심 앵커시설 조성·지원을 제시했다. 교통 분야에서는 인천1호선 검단 연장 개통 효과 극대화와 청라하늘대교(제3연륙교) 사업 추진, 서울지하철 5호선 검단·김포 연장 협의 가속을 약속했다. 생활환경 분야에서는 아라수변·정서진·정원도시 사업을 통한 친환경 녹색도시 조성과 원도심·신도시 간 공원·녹지 격차 해소를 추진한다.
◆ 스타필드 청라·돔구장 2027년, 서울아산병원 2029년 개원 예정
강 구청장은 "도시의 미래 경쟁력을 이끌 핵심 앵커시설이 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 행정 역량을 집중하겠다"고 밝혔다. 2027년 개관 예정인 스타필드 청라와 돔구장은 지역경제와 문화·관광 인프라의 상징적 거점이 될 전망이다. 2029년 서울아산병원 개원과 함께 청라국제도시는 고부가가치 산업 중심지로 성장할 것으로 기대된다. 검단지역은 박물관·도서관 복합문화시설과 법원·검찰청·경찰서 등 주요 시설을 통해 문화·교육·사법·치안 인프라가 강화된다. 강 구청장은 "지난 3년 반 동안 함께해 준 구민께 감사드린다"고 전했다.
