◆ 국토부, 용인 2개 철도사업 최종 승인
국토교통부가 10일 '제2차 경기도 도시철도망 구축계획'을 최종 승인했다. 손명수 국회의원(민주·용인을)은 이에 따라 용인경전철 광교 연장사업과 동백~신봉선이 예비타당성 조사 등 본격적인 행정절차에 착수할 전망이라고 밝혔다. 두 사업에는 총 2조4천867억 원이 투입된다.
◆ 광교 연장 6.8km·동백~신봉선 14.7km
용인경전철 광교 연장사업은 기흥역에서 흥덕을 거쳐 광교중앙역까지 총 6.8km를 연장하는 사업이다. 사업비는 약 7천47억 원이다. 기흥역의 분당선·용인경전철과 흥덕역의 인덕원동탄선, 광교중앙역의 신분당선을 연결한다. 동백신봉선은 동백역에서 GTX 구성역, 성복역을 거쳐 신봉동까지 총 14.7km를 잇는다. 사업비는 약 1조7천820억 원 규모다.
◆ 기흥구 전역 교통 접근성 대폭 개선 전망
두 철도 사업이 완성되면 GTX-A·분당선·인덕원동탄선·신분당선·용인경전철 간 연계 교통망이 강화된다. 손명수 의원은 "용인경전철 광교 연장과 동백신봉선은 용인의 미래 도시경쟁력을 좌우하는 핵심 교통 인프라"라며 "두 노선이 조속히 착공될 수 있도록 예비타당성 조사 통과와 지자체 간 협의 조정 등 후속 절차를 책임 있게 챙기겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ Ministry of Land Approves Two Yongin Railway Projects
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport approved the '2nd Gyeonggi Province Urban Railway Network Plan' on December 10. National Assembly Member Son Myung-soo (Democratic Party, Yongin-eul) announced that the Yongin Light Rail Gwanggyo Extension Project and Dongbaek-Sinbong Line will begin full administrative procedures including preliminary feasibility studies. A total of 2.4867 trillion won will be invested in both projects.
◆ Gwanggyo Extension 6.8km, Dongbaek-Sinbong Line 14.7km
The Yongin Light Rail Gwanggyo Extension Project extends a total of 6.8km from Giheung Station through Heungdeok to Gwanggyo Jungang Station. The project cost is approximately 704.7 billion won. It connects the Bundang Line and Yongin Light Rail at Giheung Station, the Indeogwon-Dongtan Line at Heungdeok Station, and the Sinbundang Line at Gwanggyo Jungang Station. The Dongbaek-Sinbong Line connects a total of 14.7km from Dongbaek Station through GTX Guseong Station and Seongbok Station to Sinbong-dong. The project cost is approximately 1.782 trillion won.
◆ Transportation Accessibility Across Giheung-gu Expected to Improve Significantly
Once the two railway projects are completed, the connected transportation network among GTX-A, Bundang Line, Indeogwon-Dongtan Line, Sinbundang Line, and Yongin Light Rail will be strengthened. Representative Son Myung-soo stated, "The Yongin Light Rail Gwanggyo Extension and Dongbaek-Sinbong Line are core transportation infrastructure that will determine Yongin's future urban competitiveness," adding, "I will responsibly handle follow-up procedures including passing the preliminary feasibility study and coordinating consultations between local governments so that both lines can begin construction as soon as possible."
