◆ "반헌법적 행동, 국민께 사죄"

25명의 의원은 3일 국회 소통관에서 사과문을 발표했다. 이성권·김용태 의원이 각각 재선과 초선을 대표해 사과문을 낭독했다. 이들은 "12·3 비상계엄은 우리 국민이 피땀으로 성취한 대한민국의 자유민주주의를 부정하고 짓밟은 반헌법적·반민주적 행동이었다"고 밝혔다. 이어 "비상계엄을 미리 막지 못하고 국민께 커다란 고통과 혼란을 드린 점에 대해 당시 집권 여당 일원으로서 거듭 국민 앞에 고개 숙여 사죄드린다"며 "헌법재판소의 결정을 존중한다"고 말했다.

의원들은 "윤석열 전 대통령을 비롯한 비상계엄을 주도한 세력과 정치적으로 단절할 것임을 분명히 밝힌다"고 강조했다. 그러면서 "과거에 대한 반성과 성찰, 용기 있는 단절을 바탕으로 새로운 미래로 나아가겠다"며 "뼈를 깎는 변화와 혁신으로 국민께 다시 희망을 드릴 수 있는 정당으로 거듭나겠다"고 밝혔다. 사과문에는 당내 공부모임 '대안과 책임'을 주축으로 한 소장파와 친한(친한동훈)계 초재선 의원 25명이 서명했다. 4선 안철수 의원, 3선 김성원·송석준·신성범 의원, 재선 권영진·김형동·박정하·배준영·서범수·엄태영·이성권·조은희·최형두 의원이 참여했다. 초선 김용태·김재섭·박정훈·안상훈·우재준·이상휘·정연욱 의원과 비례 초선 고동진·김건·김소희·유용원·진종오 의원도 함께했다.

◆ 장동혁 대표·송언석 원내대표도 책임 통감

장동혁 대표는 이날 페이스북에서 "계엄에 이은 탄핵은 한국 정치의 연속된 비극을 낳았고 국민과 당원들께 실망과 혼란을 드렸다"며 "국민의힘 대표로서 책임을 통감한다"고 밝혔다. 송언석 원내대표도 국회 기자회견에서 "국민께 큰 충격을 드린 계엄의 발생을 막지 못한 데 대해 국민의힘 국회의원 모두는 무거운 책임감을 통감하고 있다"며 사실상 사과 입장을 밝혔다.
