◆ 삶의 만족도 7.11점…전년 대비 0.18점 상승
인천광역시는 '2025년 인천사회지표조사' 결과 시민 삶의 만족도가 4년 연속 개선됐다고 밝혔다. 조사는 2025년 8월 4일부터 9월 19일까지 인천시 관내 9,000가구, 13세 이상 가구원 17,361명을 대상으로 실시했다. 인구, 건강, 가구와 가족, 문화와 여가, 소득과 소비, 노동, 주거와 교통, 교육, 안전, 환경, 사회통합 등 11개 분야 172개 항목을 조사했다. 인천시민 삶의 만족도는 10점 만점 기준 7.11점으로 전년(6.93점) 대비 0.18점 상승했다. 지역사회 소속감도 3.48점으로 전년(3.42점)보다 0.06점 증가했다.
◆ 대중교통 만족도 상승…합계출산율 전국 평균 상회
대중교통 만족도는 지하철 4.12점, 시내·마을버스 4.01점, 택시 3.76점, 시외·고속버스 3.72점 순으로 나타났다. 보행환경 만족도도 주거지역 3.65점, 인천 도심 3.62점 등 모든 항목에서 전년 대비 상승했다. 인구 분야에서는 세대당 가구원 수가 2.26명으로 최근 10년 중 최저 수준을 기록했다. 합계출산율은 0.76명으로 전년 대비 0.07명 증가해 전국 평균(0.75명)을 상회했다. 외국인 등록 인구는 89,126명으로 전년 대비 8,113명 증가했다. 노동 분야에서는 2024년 기준 경제활동참가율이 65.6%로 전년 대비 0.4%p 상승했다. 고용률은 63.5%, 실업률은 3.3%로 조사됐다.
◆ 안전 인식 개선…"시민 체감 변화 만들겠다"
타 도시 대비 인천이 안전하다는 인식은 3.56점으로 전년(3.51점) 대비 0.05점 상승했다. 시민들은 가장 우선적으로 시행해야 할 안전사업으로 '자연재해 예방사업'(33.8%)을 꼽았다. 환경 분야에서는 녹지환경 3.58점, 수질 3.55점, 토양 3.49점 등 환경 체감도가 전반적으로 개선됐다. 인천시 녹지율은 56.8%로 전국 평균(71.2%) 대비 14.1%p 낮았다. 거주지역에서 가장 우선적으로 해결해야 할 과제로는 주거복지(23.6%), 노인복지(22.9%), 청소년복지(15.6%) 순으로 나타났다. 신승열 시 기획조정실장은 "이번 조사를 통해 시민 삶의 만족도와 사회 전반의 체감 지표가 개선되고 있음을 확인했다"며 "인천사회지표를 시민 중심 정책 수립을 위한 핵심 기초자료로 활용해 시민이 체감하는 변화를 만들어 나가겠다"고 말했다.

The survey was conducted from August 4 to September 19, 2025, targeting 17,361 household members aged 13 and older from 9,000 households in Incheon. The survey covered 172 items across 11 sectors including population, health, households and families, culture and leisure, income and consumption, labor, housing and transportation, education, safety, environment, and social integration. Incheon citizens' life satisfaction scored 7.11 out of 10, up 0.18 points from the previous year (6.93 points). ◆ Public Transportation Satisfaction Rises…Total Fertility Rate Exceeds National Average
Public transportation satisfaction ranked as follows: subway 4.12 points, city and village buses 4.01 points, taxis 3.76 points, and intercity and express buses 3.72 points. Walking environment satisfaction also rose in all categories including residential areas at 3.65 points and downtown Incheon at 3.62 points. In the population sector, the number of household members per generation recorded 2.26, the lowest level in the past 10 years. The total fertility rate was 0.76, up 0.07 from the previous year, exceeding the national average (0.75). The registered foreign population was 89,126, an increase of 8,113 from the previous year. In the labor sector, the economic activity participation rate in 2024 was 65.6%, up 0.4 percentage points from the previous year. The employment rate was 63.5% and the unemployment rate was 3.3%.
◆ Safety Perception Improves…"Will Create Changes Citizens Can Feel"
The perception that Incheon is safer compared to other cities rose to 3.56 points, up 0.05 points from the previous year (3.51 points). Citizens selected "natural disaster prevention projects" (33.8%) as the most priority safety project. In the environment sector, environmental perception improved overall with green environment at 3.58 points, water quality at 3.55 points, and soil at 3.49 points. Incheon's green space ratio was 56.8%, 14.1 percentage points lower than the national average (71.2%). The most urgent issues to address in residential areas were housing welfare (23.6%), elderly welfare (22.9%), and youth welfare (15.6%). Shin Seung-yeol, Director of Planning and Coordination, said, "Through this survey, we confirmed that citizen life satisfaction and overall social perception indicators are improving," adding, "We will use the Incheon Social Indicators as core basic data for citizen-centered policy establishment to create changes that citizens can feel."
