◆ 공간혁신 프로젝트 완성

당동중학교(교장 한연수)가 유휴 급식실과 식당 공간을 학생 맞춤형 도서관 및 다목적 공간으로 재구조화했다. 학교는 12월 24일 개관식을 개최했다. 사업비로 약 10억 원을 투입했다. 정숙경 교육장, 성기황 경기도의원, 박신정 교육과장, 학교운영위원장, 학부모회장 등이 참석했다.

새 공간에는 스터디카페형 도서관, 다목적 홀, 모둠학습실, 운동동아리실, 대회의실, 소회의실, 영상제작실, 상담실이 포함된다. 스터디카페형 도서관에는 전자기기 충전 콘센트가 달린 테이블, 원형 서가, 친환경 조명을 설치했다. 다목적 홀은 행사와 동아리 활동 공간으로 활용된다.

◆ 학생 의견 반영한 세밀한 설계

학교는 교육공동체 설문조사와 인근 기관 인사이트 투어를 통해 학생, 교직원, 학부모의 의견을 수렴했다. 설계 과정에서 조도, 동선, 가구 배치, 음향 등 세부 요소를 반영했다. '책과 쉼이 공존하는 공간'과 '집중과 몰입이 가능한 학습 환경'을 구현하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

김진희 행정실장은 "기존 미활용 공간을 교육과정과 유기적으로 연계되는 미래형 학습환경이자 창의적 배움터로 탈바꿈시켰다"고 말했다. 이어 "학생 복지와 교육과정 지원 기능을 한층 강화했다"고 덧붙였다.

◆ 교육청·시청·지역사회 협력의 결과

이번 사업은 경기도교육청, 군포의왕교육지원청, 군포시청의 재정 지원으로 추진됐다. 지역사회의 협조와 학교 구성원의 참여가 함께했다. 학교 행정은 예산 확보, 사업 기획·조정, 공정 관리 전 과정에서 컨트롤타워 역할을 했다.

한연수 교장은 "이 공간이 학생들의 창의성과 협업 능력을 키우는 중심 허브가 되어 미래 교육을 실현하는 공교육의 좋은 모델이 되기를 기대한다"고 밝혔다. 학교는 홈페이지와 각종 홍보 채널을 통해 새로운 교육환경을 알릴 계획이다.

◆ Space Innovation Project Completed

Dangdong Middle School, led by Principal Han Yeon-soo, restructured its unused cafeteria and dining space into a student-customized library and multi-purpose facility. The school held an opening ceremony on December 24. The project invested approximately 1 billion won. Education Director Jung Suk-kyung, Gyeonggi Provincial Council Member Sung Ki-hwang, Education Department Head Park Shin-jeong, the school operating committee chair, and the parent association president attended the ceremony.

The new space includes a study cafe-style library, multi-purpose hall, group study room, sports club room, large conference room, small conference room, video production studio, and counseling office. The study cafe-style library features tables with power outlets for electronic devices, circular bookshelves, and eco-friendly lighting. The multi-purpose hall serves as a venue for events and club activities.

◆ Detailed Design Reflecting Student Input

The school gathered opinions from students, teachers, and parents through educational community surveys and insight tours of nearby institutions. The design process incorporated detailed elements including lighting, traffic flow, furniture arrangement, and acoustics. The project prioritized creating "a space where books and rest coexist" and "a learning environment enabling concentration and immersion."

Administrative Director Kim Jin-hee stated, "We transformed the previously unused space into a future-oriented learning environment and creative learning center organically linked to the curriculum." She added, "We strengthened student welfare and curriculum support functions."

◆ Result of Collaboration Among Education Office, City, and Community

The project was promoted with financial support from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, Gunpo-Uiwang Education Support Office, and Gunpo City Office. The initiative combined community cooperation with participation from school members. The school administration served as the control tower throughout budget securing, project planning and coordination, and construction management.

Principal Han Yeon-soo stated, "We hope this space becomes a central hub nurturing students' creativity and collaborative skills, serving as a good model of public education realizing future-focused learning." The school plans to promote the new educational environment through its website and various communication channels.
