◆ 통행료 50% 인하 후 통행량 증가

김동연 경기도지사는 2025년 1월 2일 일산대교 현장을 방문해 통행료 무료화 적극 추진 의지를 밝혔다. 경기도는 새해부터 일산대교 통행료를 기존 1,200원(승용차 기준)에서 600원으로 50% 인하했다. 이산대교주식회사 대표 이재영은 전년도 1월 1일과 비교해 일일 통행 차량이 6,300대 증가했으며, 이 중 약 12%가 통행료 감면으로 인한 증가로 추정된다고 보고했다.

김동연 지사는 "김포시는 이미 부분적인 동참 의사를 표시했고, 파주시도 적극적인 의사를 보이고 있다"며 "고양시와 협의를 통해 나머지 50%에 대한 감면을 적극 추진하겠다"고 밝혔다. 경기도는 경기도의회 협의를 거쳐 200억 원을 올해 본예산에 편성했으며, 통행료 인하 대상은 승용차 외에도 전 차종을 포함한다. 2종·3종 화물차는 1,800원에서 900원으로, 4종·5종 10톤 이상 화물차는 2,400원에서 1,200원으로, 경차는 600원에서 300원으로 각각 감면됐다.

◆ 정부 참여로 항구적 무료화 추진

김동연 지사는 "정부에서도 관심을 갖고 올해 예산에 용역비를 편성했기 때문에 항구적으로는 중앙정부까지 참여해 전액 무료화하는 계획을 추진하겠다"고 강조했다. 지사는 추가적으로 "좀 더 추이를 지켜보면서 잘 관리해 달라"고 당부했다. 경기도는 일산대교가 사실상 유일한 한강 횡단 유료도로인 민자도로라는 구조적 한계에도 불구하고 교통이 곧 민생이라는 정책적 결단에 따라 이번 조치를 추진했다고 설명했다.
