◆ 종로학센터 출범식 개최…연구위원 위촉
서울 종로구가 24일 구청사 열린홀에서 '630년의 종로를 여는 날 종로학 개원제'를 개최했다. 종로구는 26일 이 사실을 공식 발표하며 종로학 연구의 본격 추진을 선언했다. 종로학은 종로의 시대적·지역적·문화적 특성을 융합적으로 분석하는 지역학이다. 종로구는 종로학을 통해 문화도시이자 학술 중심지로서 위상을 강화하고, 지역 현안 해결과 정책 연계를 추진한다.
◆ 학술강연 개최…대학 연구진 참여
행사는 1부 종로학센터 출범식과 연구위원 위촉, 2부 축하공연, 3부 종로학 주제 학술강연으로 진행됐다. 학술강연에는 고려대학교와 성균관대학교 소속 연구진이 참여했다. 연구진은 ◆종로학의 학문적 의의와 연구 방향 ◆18~19세기 대학로 일대 주민 생활사 ◆북촌의 역사적 가치와 종로학 확장 가능성 등을 주제로 논의했다. 종로학센터는 더케이트윈타워 10층에 위치하며 종로의 정체성과 미래 비전을 체계적으로 탐구하고 시민과 공유하는 역할을 담당한다.
◆ 인문학 브랜드로 정립…정책 활용 추진
종로구는 성균관대학교, 고려대학교 글로벌인문학연구원과 협력 네트워크를 구축했다. 종로학 추진 전담조직(TF)을 중심으로 연구 방향 설정과 중장기 과제를 논의해 왔다. 종로구는 향후 종로학을 지역 정체성을 담은 인문학 브랜드로 정립하고, 연구 성과를 도시 정책 수립과 문화사업에 활용할 계획이다. 안대회 종로학센터장(성균관대 교수)은 "종로학을 통해 종로가 서울학을 넘어 한국학의 중요한 뿌리로 자리매김할 수 있도록 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다. 정문헌 종로구청장은 "종로학이 주민의 삶을 더욱 풍요롭게 하는 토대가 되길 바란다"며 "주민과 함께 종로의 가치를 재발견하고 미래로 확산해 나가겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Jongno Studies Center Opening Ceremony Held…Research Members Appointed
Seoul Jongno-gu held the 'Opening Ceremony of Jongno Studies: Opening 630 Years of Jongno' at the district office open hall on December 24. Jongno-gu officially announced this on December 26 and declared the full-scale promotion of Jongno Studies research. Jongno Studies is a regional study that comprehensively analyzes the historical, regional, and cultural characteristics of Jongno. Jongno-gu plans to strengthen its status as a cultural city and academic center through Jongno Studies and promote resolution of local issues and policy linkage.
◆ Academic Lectures Held…University Researchers Participate
The event consisted of Part 1 Jongno Studies Center opening ceremony and appointment of research members, Part 2 celebration performance, and Part 3 academic lectures on Jongno Studies topics. Researchers from Korea University and Sungkyunkwan University participated in the academic lectures. The researchers discussed topics including ◆academic significance and research direction of Jongno Studies ◆life history of residents in the Daehak-ro area in the 18th-19th centuries ◆historical value of Bukchon and expansion possibilities of Jongno Studies. The Jongno Studies Center is located on the 10th floor of The K Twin Tower and is responsible for systematically exploring the identity and future vision of Jongno and sharing it with citizens.
◆ Establishment as Humanities Brand…Policy Utilization Promoted
Jongno-gu established a cooperation network with Sungkyunkwan University and Korea University Global Humanities Research Institute. The district discussed research direction setting and mid-to-long-term tasks centered on the Jongno Studies dedicated task force (TF). Jongno-gu plans to establish Jongno Studies as a humanities brand containing regional identity and utilize research results in urban policy establishment and cultural projects. Ahn Dae-hoe, Director of Jongno Studies Center (Professor at Sungkyunkwan University), said "We will work hard so that Jongno can establish itself as an important root of Korean Studies beyond Seoul Studies through Jongno Studies." Jongno-gu Mayor Jeong Moon-heon said "I hope Jongno Studies will become a foundation that enriches the lives of residents" and added "We will rediscover the value of Jongno with residents and spread it to the future."
