◆ 항공사 이전 현황

인천국제공항공사가 지난 16일 제1·2여객터미널 항공사 이전과 재배치에 따른 운영 준비 계획을 발표했다. 에어부산은 지난 7월, 에어서울은 9월부터 제2여객터미널에서 운항을 시작했다. 아시아나항공은 내년 1월 14일 제2여객터미널로 이전할 예정이다. 아시아나항공이 제2여객터미널로 이전하면 제1여객터미널 혼잡이 완화될 전망이다. 제1여객터미널은 현재 총 여객의 66%가 이용하고 있다. 아시아나항공 이전 후에는 49%의 여객이 제1여객터미널을 이용할 것으로 예상된다. 체크인 카운터 혼잡과 성수기 주차장 포화 문제가 상당 부분 해소될 것으로 기대된다.

◆ 제2터미널 운영 준비

인천국제공항공사는 제2여객터미널 운영 준비에 최선을 다하고 있다고 밝혔다. 보안 검색 관련 정원을 7월에 증원하고 10월에 투입을 완료했다. 셀프백드롭 기기를 증설하고 주차장 용량을 확대했다. 지난해 12월 오픈한 제2여객터미널 4단계 지역의 탑승 게이트를 전면 사용한다. 항공사 라운지는 현재 4개소에서 6개소로 늘리기 위해 관계기관과 협의 중이다. 아시아나항공은 제2여객터미널 동편 H·J카운터에 체크인 카운터를 마련한다. 기존 제1여객터미널에서 아시아나항공이 사용하던 체크인 카운터는 국내 저비용항공사(LCC)가 사용하게 된다. 제1여객터미널 항공사 라운지 관련 계획은 아직 미정이다. 인천국제공항공사는 터미널 시간대별 출발패턴과 항공사별 운항 편수, 기종 등을 종합적으로 고려했다고 설명했다.

◆ 여객 전망과 향후 계획

내년 인천국제공항 국제 여객은 7507만 명에 이를 것으로 예측된다. 이는 2025년 대비 약 2.1% 증가한 수치다. 올해 국제선 여객은 7352만 명, 총 여객은 7404만 명으로 전망된다. 이학재 인천국제공항공사 사장은 "올해 인천공항은 AI 생태계 조성을 위한 기반을 마련하고 해외사업 매출도 역대 최대치를 달성했다"며 "내년에도 인천공항은 안전한 공항 운영뿐만 아니라 K-공항 수출, 첨단복합항공단지 조성 등 미래 혁신에 앞장서는 공항으로 거듭나겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ Airline Relocation Status

Incheon International Airport Corporation announced operational preparation plans for airline relocation and reallocation at Terminals 1 and 2 on the 16th. Air Busan began operations at Terminal 2 in July, and Air Seoul started in September. Asiana Airlines is scheduled to relocate to Terminal 2 on January 14 next year. Boarding gates in the Terminal 2 Phase 4 area, which opened in December last year, are now fully operational. The corporation is in discussions with related agencies to increase airline lounges from the current 4 to 6. Asiana Airlines will set up check-in counters at H and J counters on the east side of Terminal 2. The check-in counters previously used by Asiana Airlines at Terminal 1 will be used by domestic low-cost carriers (LCCs). Plans for airline lounges at Terminal 1 are yet to be determined. Incheon International Airport Corporation explained that it comprehensively considered departure patterns by terminal time zone, number of flights by airline, and aircraft types.

◆ Passenger Forecast and Future Plans

International passengers at Incheon International Airport next year are projected to reach 75.07 million. This represents an approximately 2.1% increase compared to 2025. This year's international passengers are forecast at 73.52 million, with total passengers at 74.04 million. Lee Hak-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, said, "This year, Incheon Airport laid the foundation for creating an AI ecosystem and achieved record-high overseas business revenue," adding, "Next year, Incheon Airport will continue to lead future innovation, including safe airport operations, K-Airport exports, and the creation of an advanced complex aviation district."
