유치원 무상교육협의체 제3차 회의 개최...학부모 부담 완화·공공성 강화
◆ 정책 성과 점검 착수
인천광역시교육청(교육감 도성훈)은 11월 18일 유치원 무상교육협의체 제3차 협의회를 개최했다. 회의는 2022~2025년 인천형 5세 무상교육 정책 성과 점검 및 향후 추진 방향을 중심으로 진행됐다. 공·사립유치원 원장과 교원, 학부모 대표 등 협의체 위원들이 현장의견을 제시했다.
◆ 사립유치원 지원 확대 결과
시교육청은 2022학년도부터 사립유치원 5세 무상교육 지원 사업을 시행했다. 정책은 학부모 경제적 부담 완화와 유아교육 공공성 강화를 목표로 설정됐다. 지난 4년간 수혜 대상 학생 규모와 지원 금액 증가 추이를 검토했고, 공·사립유치원 운영 현황 자료를 토대로 정책 효과를 평가했다.
◆ 지속 가능한 정책 추진
시교육청 관계자는 "공립과 사립유치원 운영 방식은 다르지만 모두 아이들 건강한 성장을 책임지는 중요한 교육 주체"라고 언급했다. 이어 "현장의견을 반영해 실질적이고 지속 가능한 무상교육 정책을 추진하겠다"고 밝혔다. 시교육청은 협의회 결과를 토대로 2026년 이후 정책 방향 수립에 착수할 예정이다.
