인천광역시교육청(교육감 도성훈)은 18일 인천도박문제예방치유센터와 협력하여 '2025년 학생 도박예방을 위한 교원 게이트키퍼 교육'을 실시했다. 초·중·고 교원 및 전문상담교사 20명이 참석했다.

◆ 스마트폰 도박, 교실 감시가 필수

인천광역시교육청은 스마트폰 기반 온라인도박과 사행성 게임 노출이 급증하는 상황에 대응하기 위해 이번 교육을 마련했다. 학생 도박문제는 표면에 드러나지 않는 만큼 조기 발견과 신속한 대응이 필수적이다. 교육청은 교원의 위험 신호 감지 능력 강화와 학교 현장의 초기 개입 체계 확립을 목표로 이번 사업을 추진했다.

◆ 교원, 학생 도박의 '게이트키퍼'로

교원들은 학생 도박문제의 특징과 위험 요인을 학습했다. 언어·행동·상황 단서를 통한 위험 신호 파악 방법도 습득했다. 교원의 게이트키퍼 역할 정의와 지역사회 연계 체계도 교육 과정에 포함되었다. 교육청은 현장에서 실제 활용 가능한 내용에 중점을 두었다.

◆ "세심한 관찰이 학생을 구한다"

인천광역시교육청 관계자는 "학생 도박문제는 은밀하게 진행되는 만큼 교원의 세심한 관찰과 초기 개입이 매우 중요하다"고 밝혔다. 교육청은 앞으로 학생 위험 행동 조기 발견 및 지원을 위한 교원 연수와 지원을 지속할 계획이다.

Teachers learned the characteristics and risk factors of student gambling problems. They acquired methods to identify warning signs through language, behavior, and situational clues. The curriculum included defining teachers' gatekeeper roles and outlined community partnership systems. The office prioritized content applicable in real school environments.

◆ "Careful Teacher Observation Protects Students"

An Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education official stated, "Student gambling problems proceed covertly, making careful teacher observation and early intervention critically important." The office plans to continue teacher training and support programs for early detection and intervention in student risk behaviors.
