◆송도컨벤시아서 2일간 도심항공교통 축제
인천광역시는 11월 20일부터 21일까지 송도컨벤시아에서 제5회 한국형 도심항공교통(K-UAM) 컨펙스를 개최한다고 10일 밝혔다.
도심항공교통(UAM)은 전기 동력 수직이착륙 항공기(eVTOL)를 활용해 도심 상공을 이동하는 차세대 교통체계다. 2040년경 전 세계 시장 규모가 1,500조 원에 이를 것으로 전망된다. 인천시는 UAM을 기반으로 도서 지역 1일 생활권과 수도권 30분 교통체계 구축을 추진하고 있다. 국토교통부가 주관하는 아라뱃길 상공 도심 실증사업에도 협력 중이다.
◆2일간 8개 세션 강연·글로벌 기업 전시 진행
강연은 2일간 8개 세션으로 구성된다. 국제기구·도시·기업 전문가들이 참여해 정책·산업화 모델·인프라 구축 등을 논의한다. 전시는 로비 및 프리미어볼룸에서 열린다. 글로벌 UAM 기업과 산학융합지구 기업 10개사 내외가 참여한다.
인천시가 의장도시로 참여하는 국제 협의체 GURS(Global UAM Regional Summit) 총회가 11월 20일 개최된다. 비즈살롱(Biz-Salon)을 통해 국내외 기업 간 산업화 협력 네트워킹이 진행된다. IFEZ-퍼듀(Purdue) 글로벌 항공우주 혁신허브 세미나에서는 항공우주 분야 글로벌 협력 방안을 논의한다. 11월 21일 UAM 배터리 융합 세미나에서는 도심항공교통과 2차 전지 기술의 융합 전략을 공유한다.
◆시민 참여 프로그램·청년 창업 챌린지 운영
UAM 아카데미와 채용박람회에서는 미래 인력 양성과 항공·모빌리티 분야 청년 취업 연계 프로그램이 운영된다. 11월 20일 스탠퍼드 센터 디자인 싱킹 워크숍을 통해 시민 수용성과 이용자 중심 서비스 디자인 방안을 논의한다. 같은 날 청년창업챌린지 성과공유회에서는 인천의 유망 스타트업 7개사가 혁신 기술과 창업 성과를 발표한다.
유정복 인천시장은 "국내외 UAM 산업을 선도하는 전문기업과 기관이 참여하는 세계적 행사로 자리매김하고 있다"며 "이번 행사를 계기로 글로벌 도심항공교통 선도도시로서 인천의 위상을 확고히 하고, 초일류도시로의 도약을 앞당기겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆Two-Day Urban Air Mobility Festival at Songdo Convensia
Incheon Metropolitan City announced on the 10th it will hold the 5th Korea-Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) CONFEX at Songdo Convensia from November 20 to 21.
Urban Air Mobility (UAM) is a next-generation transportation system utilizing electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft to move through urban airspace. The global market is projected to reach 1,500 trillion won by 2040. Incheon City is promoting the establishment of a one-day living zone for island areas and a 30-minute transportation system for the metropolitan area based on UAM. The city is also cooperating with the urban demonstration project over Ara Waterway led by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
◆8-Session Conference and Global Company Exhibition Over Two Days
The conference consists of 8 sessions over two days. Experts from international organizations, cities, and companies will discuss policies, industrialization models, and infrastructure construction. The exhibition will be held in the lobby and Premier Ballroom. Approximately 10 global UAM companies and industrial-academic convergence district companies will participate.
The GURS (Global UAM Regional Summit) General Assembly, an international consultative body in which Incheon City participates as chair city, will be held on November 20. Biz-Salon will provide networking opportunities for industrialization cooperation between domestic and foreign companies. The IFEZ-Purdue Global Aerospace Innovation Hub Seminar will discuss global cooperation plans in the aerospace sector. The UAM Battery Convergence Seminar on November 21 will share convergence strategies between urban air mobility and secondary battery technology.
◆Citizen Participation Programs and Youth Startup Challenge
The UAM Academy and Job Fair will operate future talent development and youth employment linkage programs in the aviation and mobility sectors. The Stanford Center Design Thinking Workshop on November 20 will discuss citizen acceptance and user-centered service design plans. The Youth Startup Challenge Performance Sharing Session on the same day will feature 7 promising Incheon startups presenting innovative technologies and entrepreneurial achievements.
Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok stated, "This event has established itself as a world-class event with participation from leading domestic and international UAM industry companies and institutions," adding, "Through this event, we will solidify Incheon's status as a leading global urban air mobility city and accelerate our leap to becoming a first-class city."
