◆학생들이 제안한다
이의중학교 1학년 학생이 6일 광교2동 행정복지센터에서 열린 새빛만남에서 학교 운동장 개선 방안을 제안했다. 이날 새빛만남에는 이의중학교와 이의고등학교 학생 5명이 참여했다. 이재준 수원시장은 32번째 새빛만남에서 학생들에게 먼저 발언권을 주었다. 이 학생은 "운동장을 축구나 야구 하는 친구들이 주로 사용한다"며 "자투리 공간에 달팽이놀이 등을 할 수 있는 바닥 놀이터를 만들어 더 많은 친구가 이용할 수 있었으면 좋겠다"고 말했다.

◆다양한 의견 쏟아져
학생들은 저마다 의견을 냈다. 이의중학교 전교부회장은 "교실마다 미니냉장고를 설치해 후배들이 여름에 시원한 물을 마실 수 있게 해 달라"고 제안했다. 이의고등학교 학생자치회장은 "광교에서 수원 다른 지역으로 이동하는 대중교통을 개선해 달라"고 요청했다. 이재준 시장은 학생들에게 "수원시에 바라는 점, 제안하고 싶은 것이 있으면 무엇이든 이야기해 달라"고 말했다. 참석한 시민들은 청소년들의 발언이 끝날 때마다 박수로 격려했다.

◆청소년 참여 확대
2025 새빛만남에는 청소년들이 적극적으로 참여하고 있다. 10월 21일 영흥수목원에서 열린 영통1동 새빛만남에는 청명고등학교 학생 30여 명이 참여했다. 10월 24일 송죽동 새빛만남에는 송원중학교와 천천고등학교 학생들이 함께했다. 청명고 학생은 "청명고 학생들이 영흥수목원을 무료로 입장하게 해 달라"고 제안했다. 새빛만남은 이재준 시장이 수원시 44개 동을 방문해 주민들의 목소리를 듣는 자리다. 12월 4일까지 진행된다.

◆Students Make Proposals
A first-year student from Uiui Middle School proposed ways to improve the school playground at the Saebit Meeting held at Gwanggyo 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center on the 6th. Five students from Uiui Middle School and Uiui High School participated in the meeting that day. Suwon Mayor Lee Jae-jun gave students the first opportunity to speak at the 32nd Saebit Meeting. The student said, "The playground is mainly used by friends who play soccer or baseball," adding, "I hope we can create floor playgrounds where games like snail play can be played in unused spaces so more friends can use the playground."
◆Various Opinions Pour Out
Students shared their own opinions. The vice president of Uiui Middle School's student body proposed, "Please install mini-refrigerators in each classroom so juniors can drink cold water in summer." The student council president of Uiui High School requested, "Please improve public transportation from Gwanggyo to other areas of Suwon." Mayor Lee Jae-jun told students, "Please tell us anything you wish from Suwon City or want to suggest." Citizens in attendance encouraged the youth with applause after each statement.
◆Youth Participation Expands
Youth are actively participating in the 2025 Saebit Meetings. About 30 students from Cheongmyeong High School participated in the Yeongtong 1-dong Saebit Meeting held at Yeongheung Arboretum on October 21. Students from Songwon Middle School and Cheoncheon High School joined the Songjuk-dong Saebit Meeting on October 24. A Cheongmyeong High School student proposed, "Please allow Cheongmyeong High School students free admission to Yeongheung Arboretum." The Saebit Meeting is where Mayor Lee Jae-jun visits all 44 dongs in Suwon City to listen to residents' voices. It continues until December 4.
