◆ 말 문화 확산 위한 초대전 작가 공모
한국마사회(회장 정기환) 말박물관이 말 문화 확산과 예술 지원을 위해 11월 28일까지 '2026년 말박물관 초대전 작가'를 모집한다고 밝혔다. 말박물관 초대작가전은 2009년 시작된 이후 현재까지 총 145명의 작가가 참여한 대표적인 공모전으로, 말을 예술로 표현하는 작가들의 등용문으로 자리매김했다. 이번 공모는 말을 소재로 창작 활동을 펼치는 작가를 발굴하고 소개하기 위해 진행됐다.
◆ 청년작가·과천 지역 예술가 우대
개인 또는 단체 누구나 지원할 수 있으며, 만 40세 미만의 청년작가와 박물관 소재지인 과천 지역 예술가에게는 가산점이 부여된다. 선정된 작가에게는 약 6주간의 전시 공간(기획전시실)이 무상으로 제공되며, 리플렛·배너 등 인쇄물 제작과 SNS 홍보 이벤트 등 다양한 홍보 지원이 이뤄진다. 작품 운송 등에 필요한 지원금 70만 원이 별도로 지급된다.
◆ 11월 28일까지 접수, 내년 3월부터 전시
공모 요강과 접수 방법은 한국마사회 홈페이지(www.kra.co.kr) 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있으며, 지원서는 이메일(curator@kra.co.kr)로 제출하면 된다. 접수 기한은 11월 28일 17시까지이며, 심사 결과는 11월 30일 14시 한국마사회 홈페이지를 통해 발표된다. 2026년 초대전은 내년 3월부터 11월까지 말박물관 기획전시실에서 순차적으로 개최될 예정이다. 한국마사회 홈페이지에서는 역대 초대작가들의 전시 이력을 연도별로 확인할 수 있다. 문의 02-509-1275(월화휴무)

◆ Invitational Exhibition Artist Recruitment for Horse Culture Promotion
The Korea Racing Authority (Chairman Jeong Ki-hwan) Horse Museum announced that it will recruit '2026 Horse Museum Invitational Exhibition Artists' until November 28 to promote horse culture and support the arts. The Horse Museum Invitational Exhibition has been a representative open call competition since its inception in 2009, with a total of 145 artists participating to date, and has established itself as a gateway for artists expressing horses through art. This recruitment was conducted to discover and introduce artists engaged in creative activities with horses as their subject matter.
◆ Preferential Treatment for Young Artists and Gwacheon-Area Artists
Individuals or groups can apply, with bonus points awarded to young artists under 40 years old and artists from the Gwacheon area where the museum is located. Selected artists will receive complimentary exhibition space (special exhibition hall) for approximately 6 weeks, along with various promotional support including production of printed materials such as leaflets and banners, and SNS promotional events. Support funds of 700,000 won for artwork transportation and other needs will be provided separately.
◆ Applications Accepted Until November 28, Exhibition from March Next Year
Application guidelines and submission methods can be found in the announcements section of the Korea Racing Authority website (www.kra.co.kr), and applications should be submitted via email (curator@kra.co.kr). The application deadline is November 28 at 5:00 PM, and screening results will be announced on November 30 at 2:00 PM through the Korea Racing Authority website. The 2026 invitational exhibition is scheduled to be held sequentially in the Horse Museum's special exhibition hall from March to November next year.
