고양특례시 덕양구 창조혁신캠퍼스 내 경기북부 AI캠퍼스에서 10월 28일부터 31일까지 진행된 '2025년 IBM 인공지능 전문인력 양성과정'이 성공적으로 마무리됐다. 고양특례시 시장은 이동환 씨다.

◆ IBM 플랫폼 활용한 실무 중심 교육

이번 과정은 경기도경제과학진흥원이 추진한 경기북부 AI 인재양성 프로그램의 하나로, IBM의 Watsonx 플랫폼을 활용했다. AI 모델링, 생성형 AI 실습, AI Agent 설계 및 배포 등 실무 중심 교육으로 운영됐다. 참가자들은 AI 기초부터 서비스 개발과 배포까지 전 과정을 실습하며 산업 현장에 바로 적용 가능한 기술 역량을 쌓았고, IBM 수료증을 발급받았다. 경기북부 AI캠퍼스는 AI 전문교육과 산업 협업을 함께 추진하는 경기북부 청년 중심 플랫폼으로, 이번 교육을 통해 AI 실무인재 양성의 거점 역할을 한층 강화했다.

◆ 경기북부 AI 클러스터 조성 지원

고양시 관계자는 "이번 교육이 경기북부 AI캠퍼스의 위상을 높이고, 지역 청년들의 AI 산업 진출 발판을 마련하는 계기가 됐다"며 "앞으로 경기북부 AI캠퍼스가 의정부, 파주, 양주 등 경기북부 주요 도시의 AI 인재들이 찾는 AI 전문교육 거점으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 덕양구 일대를 AI 산업의 핵심 지역으로 발전시켜 나가겠다"고 밝혔다. 고양시는 경기북부 AI캠퍼스를 중심으로 AI 교육, 산업, 취업, 창업이 선순환하는 지역 AI 클러스터 조성을 지원하고 있다. 공무원 AI 아이디어 공모전, 자율주행 로봇 시범사업 등 AI 기반 행정혁신 사업을 지속적으로 추진 중이다.

◆ AI 전문교육 거점으로 자리매김

경기북부 AI캠퍼스는 덕양구 창조혁신캠퍼스 내에 위치해 있으며, 청년 중심의 AI 전문 플랫폼으로 운영되고 있다. 고양시는 이번 IBM 교육 프로그램을 시작으로 경기북부 지역의 AI 산업 발전과 인재 양성을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대할 계획이다.

◆ Practice-oriented Education Using IBM Platform

This program was part of the Northern Gyeonggi AI talent development program promoted by the Gyeonggi Institute for Economic Science Promotion, utilizing IBM's Watsonx platform. It was operated as practice-oriented education including AI modeling, generative AI practice, and AI Agent design and deployment. Participants practiced the entire process from AI basics to service development and deployment, building technical capabilities that can be directly applied to industrial sites, and received IBM certificates. The Northern Gyeonggi AI Campus is a youth-centered platform in Northern Gyeonggi that promotes both AI professional education and industrial collaboration, further strengthening its role as a base for fostering AI practical talent through this education.

◆ Supporting Northern Gyeonggi AI Cluster Development

A Goyang City official stated, "This education raised the status of the Northern Gyeonggi AI Campus and provided an opportunity to lay the foundation for local youth to enter the AI industry," adding, "We will develop the Deokyang-gu area into a core region of the AI industry so that the Northern Gyeonggi AI Campus can establish itself as an AI professional education base that AI talents from major cities in Northern Gyeonggi such as Uijeongbu, Paju, and Yangju seek." Goyang City is supporting the creation of a regional AI cluster centered on the Northern Gyeonggi AI Campus where AI education, industry, employment, and entrepreneurship circulate virtuously. The city is continuously promoting AI-based administrative innovation projects such as the public official AI idea contest and autonomous driving robot pilot project.

◆ Establishing as AI Professional Education Base

The Northern Gyeonggi AI Campus is located in the Creative Innovation Campus in Deokyang-gu and operates as a youth-centered AI professional platform. Starting with this IBM training program, Goyang City plans to continuously expand various programs for AI industry development and talent cultivation in the Northern Gyeonggi region.
