◆ 의정활동 방침 선정

군포시의회가 2026년 의정활동 방침으로 '공론도정(公論導正)'을 선정했다. 공론도정은 '여론이 올바르게 정립·실현되도록 돕는 정치'라는 뜻이다. 군포시의회는 정책연구와 자치법규 제·개정 등 의정활동의 모든 과정에서 군포시민의 다양한 의견을 공정하게 수렴하고 사실과 원칙에 기반해 공론을 바르게 이끌어가겠다는 의지를 표명했다. 지난해 11월 제284회 임시회에서 의원 발의로 '군포시 시민공론장 활성화를 위한 지원 조례'를 제정해 제도적 근거를 마련한 바 있다.

◆ 주요 추진 과제

군포시의회는 공공기관에 대한 시민 신뢰 회복에도 노력하겠다고 밝혔다. 2025년 공공기관이나 공무원 사칭 사기가 전국 곳곳에서 발생했고 군포시의회 명의까지 도용하는 사례가 있었다. 군포시의회는 시민 숙원사업 추진 현황도 꼼꼼히 확인할 계획이다. 1기 신도시 재건축 선도지구 사업, 철도 지하화 선도구간 지정, 군포복합문화센터, 웨어러블 로봇 실증센터 구축, 당정 공업지역 정비 등 주요 사업 추진에 박차를 가한다.

◆ 인구 감소 대응

군포시의회는 군포시 인구가 지속적으로 감소하고 있어 인구정책 수립·시행과 의회의 적극적인 지원·협력이 그 어느 때보다 중요한 시기라고 강조했다. 지난해 말 기준 군포시 인구는 25만 1천여 명이다. 군포시의회는 "2026년에도 '시민 속의 민생의회' 구현을 위해 더욱 노력할 것"이라며 "'시민의 생활 속에 길이 있다'라는 신념으로 현장 중심의 민생 의정 실천을 지속하겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ Legislative Policy Selected

Gunpo City Council selected 'Gongnondojeong (公論導正)' as its 2026 legislative activity policy. Gongnondojeong means 'politics that helps public opinion be properly established and realized.' Gunpo City Council expressed its commitment to fairly collect diverse opinions from Gunpo citizens in all processes of legislative activities including policy research and enactment/revision of autonomous regulations, and to properly lead public discourse based on facts and principles. The institutional foundation was established by enacting the 'Ordinance for Supporting the Activation of Gunpo City Citizen Forums' through a council member proposal at the 284th extraordinary session in November last year.

◆ Major Tasks to Pursue

Gunpo City Council also announced it will work to restore citizen trust in public institutions. In 2025, fraud cases impersonating public institutions or officials occurred throughout the country, and there were cases of even misusing Gunpo City Council's name. Gunpo City Council plans to carefully check the progress of citizen long-awaited projects. Major projects including the 1st generation new city reconstruction leading district project, railway underground leading section designation, Gunpo Complex Cultural Center, wearable robot demonstration center construction, and Dangjeong industrial area maintenance will be accelerated.

◆ Response to Population Decline

Gunpo City Council emphasized that as Gunpo City's population continues to decline, policy establishment and implementation as well as active council support and cooperation are more important than ever. As of the end of last year, Gunpo City's population was approximately 251,000. Gunpo City Council stated, "We will work harder to realize a 'people's livelihood council within citizens' in 2026 as well. We will continue field-centered people's livelihood legislative practice with the belief that 'the path lies in citizens' lives.'"
