◆ 개관식 개최

당동중학교(교장 한연수)는 기존 유휴 급식실 및 식당 공간을 학생 맞춤형 도서관 및 다목적 공간으로 재구조화하는 사업을 완료하고 12월 24일 개관식을 개최했다. 이번 개관식은 교육공동체가 함께 만든 미래형 교육 공간의 새 단장을 알리는 자리로 마련됐다. 정숙경 교육장, 성기황 경기도의원, 박신정 교육과장, 학교운영위원장, 학부모회장 등 주요 내빈과 학생·교직원이 참석했다.

◆ 사업 내용

재구조화 사업은 2025년 약 10억 원의 예산을 투입해 추진한 공간혁신 사업이다. 기존 미활용 공간을 학생 중심의 학습·휴식·소통이 가능한 복합공간으로 재탄생시켰다. 새롭게 조성된 공간에는 스터디카페형 도서관(전자기기 충전 콘센트 테이블, 원형 서가, 친환경 조명), 다목적 홀, 모둠학습실, 운동동아리실, 대회의실, 소회의실, 영상제작실, 상담실 등이 포함됐다. 학교는 교육공동체 설문조사와 인근 기관 인사이트 투어를 통해 학생·교직원·학부모의 다양한 의견을 수렴했다. '책과 쉼이 공존하는 공간', '집중과 몰입이 가능한 학습 환경'을 구현하는 데 중점을 뒀다.

◆ 관계자 소감

김진희 행정실장은 "기존 미활용 공간을 교육과정과 유기적으로 연계되는 미래형 학습환경이자 창의적 배움터로 탈바꿈시켜 학생 복지와 교육과정 지원 기능을 한층 강화했다"고 말했다. 이어 "이번 사업은 경기도교육청과 군포의왕교육지원청, 군포시청의 재정 지원 및 지역사회의 적극적인 협조, 학교 구성원의 참여가 어우러진 결과"라고 밝혔다. 한연수 교장은 "이 공간이 학생들의 창의성과 협업 능력을 키우는 중심 허브가 되어 미래 교육을 실현하는 공교육의 좋은 모델이 되기를 기대한다"고 말했다.

This opening ceremony was prepared to announce the new renovation of the future-oriented educational space created together by the educational community. Key guests including Education Chief Jeong Suk-kyung, Gyeonggi Provincial Council Member Seong Gi-hwang, Education Division Director Park Sin-jeong, School Management Committee Chairman, and Parents' Association Chairman attended along with students and staff.

◆ Project Content

The restructuring project was a space innovation project promoted with an investment of approximately 1 billion won in 2025. The existing unused space was reborn as a complex space where student-centered learning, rest, and communication are possible. The newly created space includes a study cafe-style library (electronic device charging outlet tables, circular bookshelves, eco-friendly lighting), multipurpose hall, group study rooms, sports club room, large conference room, small conference room, video production room, and counseling room. The school gathered various opinions from students, staff, and parents through educational community surveys and insight tours of nearby institutions. The focus was on realizing 'a space where books and rest coexist' and 'a learning environment where concentration and immersion are possible.'

◆ Officials' Remarks

Administrative Director Kim Jin-hee said, "We transformed the existing unused space into a future-oriented learning environment and creative learning place organically linked to the curriculum, further strengthening student welfare and curriculum support functions." She added, "This project is the result of financial support from Gyeonggi-do Office of Education, Gunpo-Uiwang Office of Education, and Gunpo City Hall, as well as active cooperation from the community and participation of school members." Principal Han Yeon-su said, "I expect this space to become a central hub that nurtures students' creativity and collaboration abilities and becomes a good model of public education realizing future education."
