한국수출입은행(은행장 황기연)이 K-뷰티 기업 ㈜정샘물뷰티의 글로벌 시장 진출을 위해 125억원 규모의 투자를 결정했다고 31일 발표했다.

수은은 CLSA캐피탈파트너스코리아가 운용하는 500억원 규모 펀드에 핵심출자자로 참여한다. 해당 펀드는 정샘물뷰티가 발행하는 상환전환우선주(RCPS)를 인수한다.

투자금은 해외 신규매장 개설과 북미 현지법인 설립 등에 활용된다. 정샘물뷰티는 이번 자금 확보를 통해 미국, 일본, 동남아 등 해외 시장 진출을 본격화할 계획이다.

수은은 이번 투자의 의의로 '신주인수' 방식을 꼽았다. 올해 추진된 대부분의 K-뷰티 펀드가 경영권 확보 목적의 구주인수 중심이었던 것과 달리, 이번 투자는 기업 성장자금을 직접 공급하는 생산적 금융의 성격을 갖는다. 정부의 'K-뷰티 유망 중소 수출기업 육성' 정책과도 맞닿아 있다.

수은 관계자는 "대출·보증에 더해 투자를 정책금융의 3대 축으로 확대·강화하고 민간과의 공동투자를 활성화하겠다"며 "K-뷰티의 해외시장 진출을 지원하고 K-컬처의 글로벌 영향력 확산에 기여할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

Bank joins CLSA Capital's 50 billion won fund as anchor investor to support overseas expansion

The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced on December 31 that it will invest 12.5 billion won in Jung Saem Mool Beauty Co. to support the K-beauty company's global market expansion.

The bank participates as an anchor investor in a 50 billion won fund managed by CLSA Capital Partners Korea. The fund will acquire redeemable convertible preferred shares issued by Jung Saem Mool Beauty.

The investment will fund new overseas store openings and the establishment of a North American subsidiary. Jung Saem Mool Beauty plans to accelerate its expansion into the United States, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

Korea Eximbank highlighted the investment's focus on new share acquisition rather than existing share purchases. While most K-beauty funds this year targeted management control through existing share buyouts, this investment directly supplies growth capital to the company. The investment also aligns with the government's policy to nurture promising K-beauty small and medium exporters.

A bank official stated that Korea Eximbank will expand investment as a third pillar of policy finance alongside loans and guarantees while promoting joint investments with the private sector.
