◆ 9월부터 25개 경로당 순회…현장 소통 행보 마무리
인천 서구(구청장 강범석)가 지난 9월부터 시작한 '2025년 경로당 순회 방문'을 성공적으로 마쳤다. 이번 순회 방문은 관내 어르신들의 목소리를 현장에서 직접 듣고 경로당 이용 환경 개선과 노인 복지 정책의 실효성을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.
첫 방문은 지난 9월 청라2동 푸르지오 아파트 경로당에서 시작됐다. 대장정의 마무리는 23일 가정1동 SK리더스뷰 1차 아파트 경로당에서 이뤄졌다. 강범석 구청장은 4개월간 관내 총 25개소 경로당을 모두 방문해 소통 행보를 매듭지었다.
◆ 냉난방·일자리·교통 등 건의사항 40건 접수
강범석 구청장은 각 경로당을 방문할 때마다 어르신들과 격의 없는 대화를 나눴다. 냉·난방 시설 점검, 경로당 운영 프로그램 다양화, 노인 일자리 확대 등 불편 사항을 점검했다. 주거·교통·환경 등 지역 현안 전반에 대한 건의 사항도 수렴했다.
구는 이번 방문을 통해 총 40건의 건의 사항을 접수했다. 즉시 처리가 가능한 사안은 현장에서 바로 조치했다. 예산 확보가 필요한 사항은 2026년도 사업 계획에 우선 반영해 신속히 해결할 방침이다.
◆ "경로당을 복지 거점으로"…지원 지속 약속
현장에서 만난 한 어르신은 "바쁜 구정 업무 중에도 직접 경로당을 찾아와 사소한 불편함까지 세심하게 들어줘 큰 힘이 됐다"고 말했다.
강범석 구청장은 "현장에서 어르신들의 지혜를 배우고 현안을 직접 파악할 수 있는 소중한 시간이었다"며 "경로당이 단순히 쉬는 공간을 넘어 어르신들의 활기찬 노후를 책임지는 복지 거점이 될 수 있도록 아낌없는 지원을 이어가겠다"고 밝혔다.

Incheon Seo-gu District (District Mayor Kang Beom-seok) successfully completed its "2025 Senior Center Tour Visit" that began last September. The tour was designed to hear the voices of local seniors directly on-site and improve the senior center environment and effectiveness of elderly welfare policies.
The first visit started at Cheongna 2-dong Prugio Apartment Senior Center last September. The tour concluded on December 23 at Gajeong 1-dong SK Leaders View 1st Apartment Senior Center. District Mayor Kang Beom-seok visited all 25 senior centers in the district over four months, completing his communication efforts.
◆ 40 Suggestions Received Including Heating, Jobs, and Transportation
District Mayor Kang Beom-seok engaged in candid conversations with seniors at each senior center visit. He checked issues including heating and cooling facilities, diversification of senior center programs, and expansion of elderly job opportunities. He also gathered suggestions on local issues including housing, transportation, and environment.
The district received a total of 40 suggestions through these visits. Issues that could be addressed immediately were resolved on-site. Matters requiring budget allocation will be prioritized in the 2026 project plan for swift resolution.
◆ "Making Senior Centers Welfare Hubs"…Pledges Continued Support
One senior met on-site said, "Despite busy district affairs, the mayor visited the senior center personally and listened carefully to even minor inconveniences, which was greatly encouraging."
District Mayor Kang Beom-seok stated, "It was valuable time to learn wisdom from seniors and directly understand local issues on-site," adding, "I will continue generous support so that senior centers can become welfare hubs responsible for seniors' vibrant retirement beyond simply being resting spaces."
