◆ 수원시, 무장애 관광환경 공모사업 2개 부문 선정
수원특례시(시장 이재준)가 문화체육관광부 주관 '2026년도 무장애 관광환경 조성 공모사업'에 선정됐다. 수원시는 '무장애 관광 연계성 강화' 부문(국비 40억 원)과 '열린 관광지' 부문(국비 2억 5000만 원) 모두 선정돼 총 42억 5000만 원을 확보했다. 무장애 관광환경 공모사업은 장애인, 고령자, 임산부, 영유아 동반자를 포함한 모든 관광객이 이동, 시설 이용, 정보 접근에 제약 없는 여행 환경 조성을 목표로 한다.
◆ 화성행궁 열린 관광지 사업 추진
열린 관광지 사업 대상지는 화성행궁이다. 수원시는 2026년 화성행궁 별주 배수 개선, 태평성대 프로그램 운영, QR 기반 안내 서비스 강화 등 사업을 추진한다. 무장애 관광 연계성 강화 사업은 수원화성과 행궁동 일원에서 2026년부터 2028년까지 진행된다. 주요 사업은 신규 탈거리 도입, 내구연한 도래한 화성어차 교체, 시티버스 도입, 관광코스 상품 개발, 수원화성 내 안내 체계 디자인 개발 및 구축, 민간 시설 편의성 개선 등이다.
◆ 한국관광공사와 업무협약 체결
수원시는 한국관광공사와 16일 웨스턴 조선 서울에서 열린 '무장애 관광 거버넌스 총회'에서 '2026 열린관광지 조성 및 무장애 관광 활성화를 위한 업무협약'을 체결했다. 양 기관은 상호 협력을 약속했다. 협약식에는 김현수 수원시 제1부시장이 참석했다.

◆ Suwon City Selected for Two Categories of Barrier-Free Tourism Project
Suwon Special City (Mayor Lee Jae-jun) was selected for the '2026 Barrier-Free Tourism Environment Creation Project' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Suwon City was selected for both the 'Barrier-Free Tourism Connectivity Enhancement' category (4 billion won in national funding) and 'Open Tourist Site' category (250 million won), securing a total of 4.25 billion won. The barrier-free tourism environment project aims to create travel environments without restrictions on movement, facility use, and information access for all tourists including people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and those with infants.
◆ Open Tourist Site Project at Hwaseong Haenggung
The target site for the open tourist site project is Hwaseong Haenggung. Suwon City will promote projects in 2026 including Hwaseong Haenggung Byeolju drainage improvement, Taepyeongseongdae program operation, and QR-based guide service enhancement. The barrier-free tourism connectivity enhancement project will be conducted from 2026 to 2028 in Suwon Hwaseong and Haenggung-dong area. Major projects include introducing new rides, replacing Hwaseong Eocha that reached its durability limit, introducing city buses, developing tourism course products, developing and establishing guide system design within Suwon Hwaseong, and improving convenience of private facilities.
◆ Business Agreement Signed with Korea Tourism Organization
Suwon City signed a 'Business Agreement for 2026 Open Tourist Site Creation and Barrier-Free Tourism Activation' with Korea Tourism Organization at the 'Barrier-Free Tourism Governance General Assembly' held at The Westin Josun Seoul on the 16th. Both organizations promised mutual cooperation. First Vice Mayor Kim Hyun-su of Suwon City attended the signing ceremony.
