◆ 장성숙 인천시의회 문화복지위원회 부위원장 25일 함박종합사회복지관 행사 참석

인천시의회 문화복지위원회 부위원장 장성숙 의원(민주당·비례대표)이 25일 함박종합사회복지관에서 열린 건강검진 행사에 참석했다. 인천시간호사회(회장 조옥연)가 주최한 이 행사는 다문화가정 900여 명이 참여했다.

◆ 혈압·혈당 측정 무료 상담, 언어·경제적 장벽 허물다

인천시간호사회는 건강 체크 및 상담 부스를 운영해 기초 건강검진을 제공했다. 혈압·혈당 측정과 맞춤형 상담을 통해 평소 언어와 경제적 이유로 병원 방문이 어려웠던 다문화 이주민들의 의료 사각지대를 해소했다. 행사장에서는 샌드아트 공연, 파우치 키링 만들기, 천연 섬유 탈취제 만들기 등의 체험 프로그램도 운영됐다.

◆ 장 의원 "현장 돌봄이 필수의료"… 취약계층 대상 정책 강조

장성숙 의원은 인천의료원 간호사로 40여 년간 근무한 의료 전문가다. 의원은 "감염병 시대 이후 시민 건강 보호는 병원 내에만 머물지 않고 현장에서 주민을 만나 직접 살피는 활동이 중요하다"고 강조했다. 의원은 "다문화가정, 저소득층, 취약계층 대상 지역사회 건강 개선과 현장 돌봄이 필수의료"라며 "300만 인천 시민 모두가 안전하고 행복한 도시를 만들겠다"고 덧붙였다.

조옥연 인천시간호사회 회장은 "이번 행사가 다문화가정 구성원들의 지역사회 어울림과 건강 중요성 인식 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다"고 밝혔다.

◆ Free blood pressure and blood sugar measurements eliminate language and economic barriers

The Incheon Nurses Association operated a health check and counseling booth providing basic health screenings. Through blood pressure and blood glucose measurements and customized counseling, the association addressed medical access gaps for multicultural immigrants who previously faced difficulty visiting hospitals due to language and economic barriers. The event also featured sand art performances, pouches and keychain-making activities, and natural fiber deodorizer creation programs.

◆ Councilwoman Jang emphasizes "on-site care is essential medicine," highlights policies for vulnerable populations

Councilwoman Jang Seong-suk worked as a nurse at Incheon Medical Center for approximately 40 years and brings healthcare expertise to her role. She stated, "Following the infectious disease era, protecting citizens' health requires more than hospital-based care—direct health monitoring through on-site community engagement is critical." Jang emphasized that "essential healthcare includes community health improvement and on-site care services for multicultural families, low-income groups, and vulnerable populations," adding "we will work to create a safe and prosperous Incheon for all 3 million residents."

Jo Ok-yeon, Chair of the Incheon Nurses Association, stated, "We hope this event provides multicultural family members with an opportunity to integrate into the community and recognize the importance of health."
