서울 서대문구가 15일부터 서울 서북권 자치구 중 최초로 자율주행버스 '서대문A01'을 운행한다고 31일 밝혔다. 구청장 이성헌이 발표했다.
◆ 5.9km 노선, 10개 정류소 연결
자율주행버스는 문화체육회관 입구 정류소에서 출발해 모래내로와 경의중앙선 가좌역 3번 출구를 거쳐 서대문구청 앞 정류소로 돌아온다. 총 5.9km 노선에 10개 정류소를 운영한다. 구청, 보건소, 홍제폭포, 안산, 문화체육회관, 청소년센터, 서대문종합사회복지관, 모래내시장, 가좌역 등을 연결한다.
㈜라이드플럭스가 운행 용역을 맡는다. 현대 쏠라티(디젤, 승객정원 12인) 차량 2대를 투입한다. 평일 오전 9시20분부터 오후 5시30분까지 하루 14회 운행한다. 배차 간격은 30분이다. 점심시간(낮 12시10분~오후 1시40분)에는 80분 간격으로 운행한다.
◆ 무료 운행, 내년 하반기 유료 전환
노선 전체 운행 시간은 약 40분이다. 이용 요금은 무료다. 승하차 통계와 환승 연계를 위해 교통카드가 필요하다. 내년 하반기에 유료로 전환한다.
정류소별 잔여 좌석 수는 차량 외부 LED 표시기로 확인한다. 가좌역 3번 출구 정류소를 제외한 9개 정류소는 기존 시내버스 정류소를 활용한다. 버스정보안내단말기로 실시간 도착 정보를 제공한다. 네이버, 다음, 카카오버스 앱에서 서대문A01 노선을 검색한다.
◆ 안전요원 2명 탑승, 영유아 승차 제한
안전요원 2명이 승차해 이용 안내를 제공한다. 어린이보호구역 통과 시와 필요 시 수동으로 운전한다.
승객 안전을 위해 입석을 제한한다. 6세 미만 영유아는 안전상 사유로 승차할 수 없다. 6세 이상 14세 미만 아동은 보호자와 동승 가능하다.
이성헌 구청장은 "자율주행버스 운영으로 미래 모빌리티 실현 자치구로 도약하고 서대문구의 교통 복지를 증진하겠다"고 밝혔다.

◆ 5.9km Route Connecting 10 Bus Stops
The autonomous bus departs from the Cultural & Sports Center entrance stop, passes through Moraenae-ro and Exit 3 of Gyeongui-Jungang Line Gajwa Station, and returns to the stop in front of Seodaemun-gu Office. The service operates a total 5.9km route with 10 bus stops. It connects the district office, health center, Hongjae Waterfall, Ansan Mountain, Cultural & Sports Center, Youth Center, Seodaemun Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Moraenae Market, and Gajwa Station.
Rideflux Co., Ltd. operates the service. The company deployed two Hyundai Solati vehicles (diesel, 12-passenger capacity). The bus runs 14 times daily on weekdays from 9:20 AM to 5:30 PM. The dispatch interval is 30 minutes. During lunch hours (12:10 PM to 1:40 PM), the interval extends to 80 minutes.
◆ Free Operation, Converting to Paid Service in Second Half of Next Year
The total route operation time is approximately 40 minutes. The fare is free. Transportation cards are required for boarding and alighting statistics and transfer connections. The service will convert to paid fares in the second half of next year.
Remaining seats at each stop are displayed on the vehicle's external LED indicator. Nine stops excluding Exit 3 of Gajwa Station utilize existing city bus stops. Real-time arrival information is provided through bus information terminals. Users can search for the Seodaemun A01 route on Naver, Daum, and Kakao Bus app.
◆ Two Safety Personnel Onboard, Infants Restricted from Boarding
Two safety personnel board the bus to provide user guidance. They manually operate the vehicle when passing through child protection zones and when necessary.
Standing passengers are restricted for passenger safety. Children under 6 years old cannot board for safety reasons. Children aged 6 to 13 can board with guardians.
District Mayor Lee Seong-heon stated, "Through autonomous bus operations, we will advance as an autonomous district realizing future mobility and enhance Seodaemun-gu's transportation welfare."
