㈜셀로맥스 사이언스는 건강기능식품·화장품 제조기업으로 2014년 설립됐다. 전체 직원 54명 중 67%가 20~30대다. 이 기업은 지난 7월부터 경기도 주4.5일제 시범사업에 참여해 주 35시간제를 운영하고 있다.
자녀가 둘인 한 직원은 "아이와 시간을 많이 보낼 수 있다는 점이 가장 큰 변화"라며 "저녁을 같이 먹고 학교 숙제를 도와주는 시간이 늘어 친밀감이 생겼다"고 말했다. 다른 직원은 "5시 퇴근으로 해가 있을 때 반려견 산책을 할 수 있어 삶의 질이 나아졌다"고 했다. "자기개발 시간이 생겨 꽃꽂이 수업과 필라테스를 하게 됐다"는 의견도 나왔다.
김성락 총괄사장은 "구성원들이 행복하고 즐거우면 생산성이 내려갈 일은 없다"며 "경기도에서 좋은 기회를 줘 감사하고, 재택근무도 활성화할 계획"이라고 밝혔다.

2025년 경기도 4.5일제 시범사업은 기업이 노사 합의로 ▲주4.5일제 ▲주 35시간제 또는 36시간제 ▲격주 주4일제 ▲혼합형 중 하나를 선택해 근로시간을 단축하는 제도다. 1·2차 모집을 통해 경기도 내 104개 기업과 1개 공공기관이 참여하고 있다. 선정 기업에는 노동자 1인당 월 최대 26만원(주 5시간 단축 기준)의 임금 보전 장려금이 지급된다. 기업당 최대 2000만원 한도로 업무 프로세스·공정 개선 컨설팅, 근태관리시스템 구축 지원 등도 제공된다. 경기도는 해당 기업에 주4.5일제 장려금과 근태관리시스템, 정착컨설팅 2회, 일하는 방식 개선 컨설팅 2회를 지원했다.

Governor Kim said, "If we create a society where people work happily and joyfully in their positions, structural problems can be solved," requesting, "Please create a good benchmarking case."
Gyeonggi Province's 2025 4.5-day workweek pilot program is a system where companies can select one of the following through labor-management agreement: ▲4.5-day workweek ▲35 or 36-hour work week ▲bi-weekly 4-day workweek ▲hybrid model to reduce working hours. Through first and second rounds of recruitment, 104 companies and 1 public institution in Gyeonggi Province are participating. Selected companies receive wage compensation incentives of up to 260,000 won per worker per month (based on 5-hour reduction). Support for productivity improvement, including business process and production improvement consulting and attendance management system establishment, is also provided up to 20 million won per company. Gyeonggi Province provided the company with 4.5-day workweek incentives, attendance management system, 2 settlement consulting sessions, and 2 work method improvement consulting sessions.
