◆ 박승삼 부시장 주도 대표단 8명 파견

시흥시(시장 임병택)는 10월 15일부터 18일까지 3박 4일간 중국 덕주시, 제남시, 청도시를 공식 방문한다고 밝혔다.

이번 방문은 덕주시의 공식 초청으로 이뤄졌다. 박승삼 시흥시 부시장을 단장으로 하는 대표단 8명이 덕주시와의 자매결연 20주년을 기념하고 산업·관광·청소년 분야 교류 협력을 강화한다.

◆ 15일 제남시 고신구 방문

대표단은 15일 첫 일정으로 제남시 첨단기술개발지역인 고신구를 방문했다. 고신구는 중공업, 방직, 정보기술, 바이오, 첨단설비 산업이 발달한 제남시 산업 성장 거점이다.

◆ 16일 자매결연 20주년 기념행사 개최

대표단은 16일 덕주시청에서 '시흥시-덕주시 자매결연 20주년 기념행사'에 참석했다. 덕주시 외사판공실이 주관한 행사에는 양 도시 대표단과 청소년 교류단 등 50여 명이 참석했다.

행사는 20주년 기념 사진전 개막, 전통문화예술단 축하공연, 양 도시 대표 축사 및 간담회, 기념사진 촬영 순으로 진행했다. 양 도시는 행정·산업·문화·청소년 분야 교류를 확대하기로 했다.

◆ 17일 청도시 하이테크 산업개발구역 시찰

대표단은 17일 청도시 국가 하이테크 산업개발구역을 방문한다. 첨단 바이오·의료기기 산업과 외국계 기업의 국제협력 거점 운영 현황을 시찰한다. 이곳은 중국 내 바이오메디컬 분야 중심지로 글로벌 투자와 기술협력이 진행되고 있다.

◆ 18일 KOTRA 청도무역관 방문

대표단은 18일 청도시 소재 대한무역투자진흥공사(KOTRA) 무역관을 방문해 관계자 면담을 진행한다. 경제·통상 분야 협력 확대 방안을 모색할 예정이다. KOTRA 청도무역관은 산둥성 등 중국 동부 지역의 한국 기업 진출 지원과 양국 산업교류 촉진을 담당한다.

박승삼 시흥시 부시장은 "덕주시는 시흥시와 2005년 자매결연을 체결한 이후 교육, 청소년, 문화 등 분야에서 교류를 이어온 도시"라며 "이번 방문으로 양 도시 간 신뢰를 공고히 하고, 산업과 경제, 청소년 분야에서 협력의 폭을 넓혀갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.

◆ Visit to Jinan's Gaoxin District on the 15th

The delegation visited Gaoxin District, a high-tech development zone in Jinan, as the first schedule on the 15th. Gaoxin District is an industrial growth hub of Jinan with developed heavy industry, textile, information technology, bio, and high-tech equipment industries.

◆ 20th Anniversary Commemoration Event held on the 16th

The delegation attended the 'Siheung-Dezhou Sister City 20th Anniversary Commemoration Event' at Dezhou City Hall on the 16th. About 50 people including delegations from both cities and youth exchange groups attended the event hosted by Dezhou's Foreign Affairs Office.

The event proceeded with the opening of 20th anniversary photo exhibition, congratulatory performance by traditional culture and arts troupe, congratulatory speeches and meeting by representatives of both cities, and commemorative photography. Both cities agreed to expand exchanges in administration, industry, culture, and youth sectors.

◆ Inspection of Qingdao High-tech Industrial Development Zone on the 17th

The delegation will visit Qingdao's National High-tech Industrial Development Zone on the 17th. They will inspect advanced bio and medical device industries and the operation status of international cooperation bases for foreign companies. This place is the center of biomedical field in China where global investment and technology cooperation are in progress.

◆ Visit to KOTRA Qingdao Trade Center on the 18th

The delegation will visit the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) trade center in Qingdao on the 18th for meetings with officials. They plan to explore ways to expand cooperation in economic and trade sectors. KOTRA Qingdao Trade Center is responsible for supporting Korean companies' entry into eastern China (Shandong Province, etc.) and promoting bilateral industrial exchanges.

Siheung City Vice Mayor Park Seung-sam stated, "Dezhou is a city that has continued exchanges in various fields such as education, youth, and culture since establishing sister city relations with Siheung in 2005," adding, "Through this visit, we will further solidify trust between the two cities and broaden the scope of cooperation in industry, economy, and youth sectors."
