◆ 광역시도 60호선 승격 지정

강화군(군수 박용철)은 '내가면 외포리∼선원면 신정리' 구간의 군도 및 농어촌도로가 '광역시도 60호선'으로 승격 지정됐다고 밝혔다. 이번 승격으로 동서축 도로망 확충과 4차선 확장 논의에 청신호가 켜졌다.

이번 광역시도 60호선 승격은 인천시의 광역시도 노선 재정비에 따른 것이다. 계양∼강화 고속도로 완공에 대비한 연계 도로망 구축을 위해 지정됐다.

강화군은 계양∼강화 고속도로 개통에 따른 교통 여건 변화와 동서축 간선도로 확보 필요성을 인천시에 지속적으로 설명하며 협의를 이어왔다.

◆ 강화 중심부 동서축 간선도로 확보

광역시도 60호선이 개설될 경우 강화 중심부를 관통하는 동서축 간선도로를 확보하게 된다. 현재 강화군의 동서축 도로 기능은 국도 48호선이 담당하고 있으나 노선이 북단에 편중돼 있어 강화 전역을 아우르는 간선 기능 수행에는 한계가 있다.

계양∼강화 고속도로 이용 차량이 강화 북단과 남단으로 원활하게 이동할 수 있어 교통량 분산 효과도 기대된다. 간선도로망 확충은 단순한 교통 여건 개선을 넘어 강화군의 공간 구조와 개발 방향을 좌우하는 핵심 기반 시설로 평가된다.

◆ 박용철 군수 "균형 구조 전환 계기"

강화군은 앞으로 국비·시비 등 재원 확보에 적극 나서 광역시도 60호선의 신속한 확충을 위해 행정 역량을 집중할 계획이다.

박용철 강화군수는 "광역시도 60호선 지정은 강화군 도로망 구조를 남북축 중심에서 동서축이 보완된 균형 구조로 전환하는 중요한 계기가 될 것"이라며 "앞으로도 인천시와 긴밀히 협력해 군민 교통편의 증진과 지역 균형 발전을 이끌어 나가겠다"고 말했다.

Ganghwa-gun has continued negotiations with Incheon City, consistently explaining the changes in traffic conditions following the Gyeyang-Ganghwa Expressway opening and the need to secure east-west arterial roads.

◆ Securing East-West Arterial Road Through Central Ganghwa

Once Metropolitan Route 60 is established, an east-west arterial road passing through central Ganghwa will be secured. Currently, National Route 48 serves the east-west road function in Ganghwa-gun, but the route is concentrated in the northern part, limiting its ability to serve as an arterial function covering all of Ganghwa.

Traffic dispersion effects are also expected as vehicles using the Gyeyang-Ganghwa Expressway will be able to move smoothly to the northern and southern parts of Ganghwa. Arterial road network expansion is evaluated as core infrastructure that goes beyond simple traffic improvement to influence Ganghwa-gun's spatial structure and development direction.

◆ County Governor Park Yong-cheol: "Opportunity to Transition to Balanced Structure"

Ganghwa-gun plans to actively secure funding including national and city budgets and concentrate administrative capacity for rapid expansion of Metropolitan Route 60.

Ganghwa-gun County Governor Park Yong-cheol said, "The designation of Metropolitan Route 60 will be an important opportunity to transform Ganghwa-gun's road network structure from a north-south axis focus to a balanced structure supplemented by an east-west axis. We will continue to work closely with Incheon City to improve transportation convenience for residents and lead balanced regional development."
