◆ 최우수상 수상

군포 대야 물말끔터 공공하수처리시설이 한국환경공단 '악취기술진단 완료시설 운영관리 평가'에서 최우수상을 수상했다. 16일 서울 중소기업 DMC타워에서 열린 시상식에서 수상 기관으로 선정됐다.

한국환경공단은 환경부 산하 기관으로 하수·폐수·분뇨·음식물류 처리시설 등 환경기초시설을 악취방지법에 따라 5년마다 기술진단을 시행한다. 기술진단 완료 시설을 4개 그룹으로 구분해 악취저감 성과, 사후관리 실적, 현장 개선 노력 등을 종합 평가하고 우수 시설을 선정 포상한다.

◆ 71개 시설 중 유일 최우수 기관

이번 평가는 전국 161개 공공환경시설 중 Ⅱ그룹(하수 1만톤/일·폐수 3천톤/일 미만) 71개 시설을 대상으로 진행됐다. 군포 대야 물말끔터가 71개 시설 중 유일한 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다. 동 시설은 대야미동·둔대동 지역 생활하수 5,000톤/일을 처리 중이다.

◆ 우수한 악취관리 체계 구축

군포 대야 물말끔터는 전처리시설 각 단위 공정별 악취 발생원에 국소포집설비를 설치했다. 공간 내 악취 제거를 위해 공간포집설비(후드)를 운영한다. 모든 단위 발생원 상부를 밀폐 덮개로 설치해 관리 상태가 우수하며, 타 시설에서 관리 미흡 사례가 많은 협잡물 박스에도 별도 포집설비를 설치해 악취저감 효과를 극대화했다. 전처리시설 바닥을 주기적으로 고압 세척해 청결 유지와 악취 예방 관리를 지속하고 있다.

하은호 군포시장은 "공공하수처리시설 효율적 운영으로 악취저감에 최선을 다하고 있다"고 말했다. "앞으로 시민에게 더 쾌적한 생활환경을 제공하기 위해 관리 수준을 지속 향상하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

◆ Excellence Award Winner

Gunpo Daeya Mulmalkkeum-teo public wastewater treatment facility won the Excellence Award in the Korea Environment Institute's "Odor Technology Diagnosis Completed Facility Operation Management Evaluation." The facility was selected as a winning organization at the awards ceremony held on the 16th at the Small and Medium Business DMC Tower in Seoul.

The Korea Environment Institute, a subsidiary agency under the Ministry of Environment, conducts technical inspections every five years on environmental infrastructure facilities including sewage, wastewater, fecal matter, and food waste treatment facilities in accordance with the Odor Prevention Act. The institute classifies facilities with completed technical inspections into four groups and conducts comprehensive evaluations based on odor reduction achievements, post-management performance, and on-site improvement efforts to select and recognize excellent facilities.

◆ Sole Excellence Facility Among 71 Facilities

This evaluation covered 71 facilities in Group II (less than 10,000 tons/day sewage and 3,000 tons/day wastewater) out of 161 public environmental facilities nationwide. Gunpo Daeya Mulmalkkeum-teo was selected as the sole excellence facility among 71 facilities. The facility currently treats 5,000 tons/day of domestic wastewater generated in Dayami-dong and Dun-dae-dong areas.

◆ Advanced Odor Management System Implementation

Gunpo Daeya Mulmalkkeum-teo installed local collection equipment at odor generation sources for each unit process of the pretreatment facility. The facility operates space collection equipment (hood) to remove odors within the space. All unit generation sources are covered with sealed lids and maintained in excellent condition, and separate collection equipment was installed even at miscellaneous waste boxes where other facilities often show inadequate management, maximizing odor reduction effects. The pretreatment facility floor is regularly cleaned with high-pressure washing to maintain cleanliness and prevent odors.

Mayor Ha Eun-ho of Gunpo stated, "We are making our utmost efforts to reduce odors through efficient operation of public wastewater treatment facilities." He added, "We will continuously improve management standards to provide residents with a more pleasant living environment."
