◆ 12일 근대건축문화자산 3호 개관

인천도시공사(iH)가 오는 12일 근대건축문화자산 3호를 개관한다. iH는 김수근문화재단과 협력해 자산 1·2호에서 전시와 심포지엄을 개최한다고 9일 밝혔다. 근대건축문화자산 재생사업은 iH가 근대건축물을 매입한 뒤 지역문화공간으로 리모델링해 시민들에게 돌려주는 문화 재생사업이다. iH는 2020년 '개항장 이음1977'(1호)을 시작으로 2023년 '백년이음'(2호)을 개관했다. iH는 근대건축문화자산을 통해 인문학 강의, 예술관 네트워킹, 전시 공간 제공 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

◆ 1970년대 공일곤 건축가 설계…중정 구조 특징

근대건축문화자산 3호는 중구 송학동1가 2-3에 위치한다. 3호는 1970년대 공일곤 건축가가 설계한 건축물이다. 중정(주택 안에 만든 안뜰)을 도입해 모든 공간을 연결한 독특한 구조가 특징이다. 이번 전시는 '첫 번째 집'을 주제로 한다. 전시는 건축가와 건축주 모두에게 '첫 집'의 의미를 지니는 서사를 다룬다. 건축 과정과 건축주 가족의 생활사, 관련 기록을 입체적으로 살펴볼 수 있는 아카이브형 전시로 구성한다. 전시는 사전 예약 없이 오는 12~23일 오전 5시부터 오후 5시까지 시민에게 무료로 개방한다.

◆ "원도심 활성화에 기여하겠다"

류윤기 iH 사장은 "그동안 근대건축문화자산을 인천의 문화거점사업으로 발전시켜 개항장 일대의 역사·건축적 가치를 널리 알리기 위해 노력해 왔다"고 말했다. 류 사장은 "앞으로도 지역사회와 청년 예술가들이 함께 성장하는 공간으로 확장해 원도심 활성화에 기여하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

◆ Modern Architectural Cultural Asset No. 3 opens on the 12th

Incheon City Development Corporation (iH) opens Modern Architectural Cultural Asset No. 3 on the 12th. iH announced on the 9th that it will hold exhibitions and symposiums at Assets No. 1 and 2 in cooperation with the Kim Swoo-geun Foundation. The Modern Architectural Cultural Asset Regeneration Project is a cultural regeneration project where iH purchases modern buildings, remodels them into local cultural spaces, and returns them to citizens. iH opened 'Gaehanggang Ieum 1977' (No. 1) in 2020 and 'Baeknyeon Ieum' (No. 2) in 2023. iH operates various programs through modern architectural cultural assets, including humanities lectures, art museum networking, and exhibition space provision.

Modern Architectural Cultural Asset No. 3 is located at 2-3 Songhak-dong 1-ga, Jung-gu. No. 3 is a building designed by architect Gong Il-gon in the 1970s. It features a unique structure that connects all spaces by introducing a courtyard (an inner garden inside the house). This exhibition is themed 'The First House.' The exhibition deals with narratives that hold the meaning of 'first house' for both the architect and the building owner. It is organized as an archive-type exhibition where visitors can three-dimensionally examine the construction process, the building owner family's life history, and related records. The exhibition is open to the public for free from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. from the 12th to the 23rd without prior reservation.

◆ "We will contribute to revitalizing the original downtown"

iH President Ryu Yun-ki said, "We have been striving to develop modern architectural cultural assets into Incheon's cultural hub project and widely promote the historical and architectural value of the open port area." President Ryu added, "We will continue to expand it into a space where the local community and young artists can grow together and contribute to revitalizing the original downtown."
