◆ 시흥시, 한국교통안전공단과 협력해 드론 인재 양성 본격화
시흥시(시장 임병택)가 미래 드론 인재 양성 기반을 강화한다. 시흥시는 한국교통안전공단과 협력해 운영하는 시흥드론교육센터 시민체험 프로그램을 통해 올해 총 986명을 교육했다. 이 사업은 2022년 7월 체결한 '드론교육센터 시설개방 및 시민체험교육' 업무협약에 따라 추진됐다. 시흥시는 시민에게 드론 운용 공간과 체험 기회를 제공한다.
드론교육 프로그램은 '미래산업 체험교육 활성화' 비전공약 실현을 위한 시정 중점과제다. 시흥시는 올해 교육 대상을 확장하고 교육 내용을 다양화했다. 시흥시는 3월부터 11월까지 총 30차수 교육을 운영했다. 가족 체험 프로그램에는 170가정 509명이 참여했다. 창의진로체험학교 연계 프로그램에는 274명이 드론 기반 진로 탐색 기회를 얻었다.
◆ 심화형 교육 과정 첫 도입…203명 참여
시흥시는 올해 처음 '심화형 교육 과정'을 도입했다. 이 과정은 시흥시 드론 교육이 한 단계 도약하는 계기가 됐다. 시흥시 부설 영재반, 발명반, 초등학교 교사, 대학생, 학부모 등 다양한 교육 수요층이 참여했다. 총 203명이 실전 중심 교육을 받았다. 참여자들은 드론 기술의 활용성을 직접 체감했다.
시흥드론교육센터는 평일 외부 비행장 4곳을 개방해 시민의 드론 비행 활동을 지원한다. 시흥시는 올해부터 시흥소방서와 협력해 재난 대응 드론 전용 비행장 2곳을 운영한다. 시흥시는 향후 시흥시청 관련 부서 직원으로 활용 대상을 확대할 계획이다. 시흥시는 관내 드론기업 11개사의 실증 활동도 지원하며 지역 드론 산업과의 연계 기반을 강화한다.
◆ 교육 만족도 100%…시니어까지 교육 대상 확대 예고
드론 체험교육 및 시설 개방에 대한 시민 만족도는 매우 높다. 올해 교육 참여자 전원이 '기대에 부응했다'고 응답했다. 교육의 필요성과 효과성이 확인됐다.
시흥시 관계자는 "앞으로도 시니어를 포함한 모든 시민이 첨단 기술을 쉽고 안전하게 체험할 수 있도록 드론교육센터와의 협력을 지속 확대하겠다"고 밝혔다.
