인천항만공사(IPA)가 인항고등학교와 인천해사고등학교에 장학금 2000만원을 전달했다고 3일 밝혔다. IPA는 매년 두 학교를 대상으로 인재 양성을 위한 장학사업을 이어오고 있다. 미래 지역·해양인재 육성과 지역사회 공헌이 목적이다.

◆ 학생 40명 장학생 선발

올해는 각 학교장 추천을 통해 학업 의지가 높고 모범적으로 학교생활을 해온 학생 40명을 장학생으로 선발했다. 장학금 전달식에는 조병남 인항고등학교 교장과 양희복 인천해사고등학교 교장이 참석해 장학금 지원에 대한 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

◆ 지역사회 발전 협력 약속

두 학교 교장은 앞으로 지역 및 해양인재 육성과 지역사회 발전을 위해 협력하기로 뜻을 모았다. 이경규 IPA 사장은 "인천항의 미래를 이끌어 갈 다음 세대 인재 양성을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다"고 말했다.

The two school principals agreed to cooperate for nurturing regional and maritime talent and developing the local community in the future. IPA President Lee Kyung-kyu said "We will continue to make efforts to nurture the next generation of talent who will lead the future of Incheon Port."
