◆ 전년 대비 583억원 증가한 예산안 편성

인천시 남동구는 24일 2026년도 예산안을 1조 2830억원으로 편성해 구의회에 제출했다고 밝혔다. 내년도 예산안은 올해 본예산 1조 2247억원 대비 583억원(4.76%) 증가한 규모다. 내년도 예산안은 다음 달 18일 예정된 제308회 남동구의회 제2차 정례회 심의를 거쳐 최종 확정된다.

◆ 사회복지 예산 8988억원 편성

내년도 예산안에서 가장 비중이 큰 사회복지 관련 예산은 전체 일반회계 예산의 71%를 차지한다. 전년 대비 632억원(7.57%) 증가한 8988억원으로 편성됐다. 주요 내용은 기초연금 2631억원, 기초생활보장 생계급여 1687억원, 장애인 활동 지원 462억원 등이다. 사회적 약자와 취약계층 지원을 강화했다.

◆ 재난 예방·생활환경 개선에도 투자

남동구는 구민의 평온한 삶을 지키기 위해 선제적 재난 예방에 집중했다. 셉테드 기반 방범용 CCTV 설치 및 스마트 관제시스템 구축에 3억원, 상습 침수지역 우수저류시설 설치에 31억원을 편성했다. 생활환경 개선을 위해 도로 및 보도 유지보수 8억원, 공원 및 녹지대 유지관리 42억원, 버스승강장 시설개선 및 유지관리 5억원도 반영했다. 박종효 남동구청장은 "2026년 예산안은 꼭 필요한 곳에 효율적으로 배분하고자 노력했다"며 "구민이 체감할 수 있는 생활의 변화를 위해 사업 추진에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Social Welfare Budget Set at 898.8 Billion Won

Social welfare-related budget, which accounts for the largest portion of next year's budget, represents 71% of the total general account budget. It was set at 898.8 billion won, an increase of 63.2 billion won (7.57%) from the previous year. Major items include 263.1 billion won for basic pension, 168.7 billion won for basic livelihood security living benefits, and 46.2 billion won for disability activity support. Support for the socially vulnerable and underprivileged has been strengthened.

◆ Investment in Disaster Prevention and Living Environment Improvement

Namdong-gu focused on preemptive disaster prevention to protect residents' peaceful lives. The district allocated 300 million won for CPTED-based security CCTV installation and smart control system construction, and 3.1 billion won for rainwater storage facility installation in habitually flooded areas. For living environment improvement, 800 million won for road and sidewalk maintenance, 4.2 billion won for park and green space maintenance, and 500 million won for bus stop facility improvement and maintenance were also reflected. Namdong-gu Mayor Park Jong-hyo stated, "We tried to efficiently allocate the 2026 budget to where it is most needed" and "We will do our best to promote projects for changes in life that residents can feel."
