◆ 검찰 구형보다 낮은 벌금형 선고
서울중앙지방법원은 20일 2019년 국회 패스트트랙 충돌 사건에 대한 1심 선고를 진행했다. 재판부는 나경원 국민의힘 의원에게 벌금 2,400만 원, 송언석 원내대표에게 1,150만 원, 황교안 전 국무총리에게 1,900만 원을 선고했다. 검찰은 나 의원과 송 원내대표 등 5명에게 실형을, 이철규 의원에게 벌금형을 구형했다.
◆ 재판부 "국회 운영 방해 죄책 가볍지 않아"
재판부는 "피고인들이 불법적 수단으로 입법 활동을 저지하고 국회 운영을 방해해 죄책이 가볍지 않다"고 밝혔다. 나 의원은 선고 후 "무죄 선고가 나오지 않은 것은 아쉽다"며 "민주당 독재를 막을 최소한의 저지선을 인정받았다"고 말했다. 황 전 총리는 "법이 무너졌다. 자유민주주의가 무너졌다"고 밝혔다.
◆ 국민의힘 현역 의원 6명 의원직 유지
이번 판결로 나 의원 등 국민의힘 현역 의원 6명은 의원직을 유지할 수 있게 됐다. 사건은 2019년 더불어민주당이 공수처 설치 등 법안을 신속처리안건으로 지정하려 하자 자유한국당이 이를 저지하면서 몸싸움으로 번졌다. 6년 7개월 만의 선고다.

This ruling allows Rep. Na and 5 other sitting People Power Party members to maintain their parliamentary seats. The incident occurred in 2019 when the Democratic Party attempted to designate bills including establishment of the Corruption Investigation Office as fast track items, and the Free Korea Party tried to block this, resulting in physical clashes. The verdict came 6 years and 7 months after the incident.
