◆ 오전 8시 화재 발생, 소방력 135명 투입
인천 옹진군 영흥화력발전소에서 16일 오전 7시59분 터빈 내부에서 화재가 발생했다. 인천소방본부는 신고 접수 직후 소방관 135명과 펌프차 등 장비 53대를 현장에 투입했다. 소방당국은 오전 8시24분 대응 1단계를 발령하고 관할 소방서 전체 인력과 장비를 출동시켰다.
◆ 55분 만에 큰 불길 잡아
소방당국은 오전 8시54분 큰 불길을 잡는 데 성공했다. 현장에 도착했을 당시 건물 외부로 검은 연기가 치솟았다. 소방당국은 오전 11시30분 대응 단계를 해제했다. 현재까지 인명 피해는 발생하지 않았다.
◆ 컨베이어벨트서 출화 추정
소방당국은 컨베이어벨트에서 불이 시작돼 석탄이송타워 건물로 번진 것으로 보고 있다. 소방당국 관계자는 "진화 작업을 완료하는 대로 정확한 화재 원인과 재산 피해 규모를 조사할 예정"이라고 밝혔다.
