◆ 대한민국 솔라리그 최우수상 수상

시흥시(시장 임병택)는 지난 11월 5일 경기도 화성시 정조효공원 야외무대에서 열린 '제7회 대한민국 솔라리그(K-Solar League)'에서 최우수상(한국에너지공단 이사장상)을 받았다. 이번 수상으로 시는 지난해 산업통상자원부 장관상 수상에 이어 2년 연속 수상을 달성하며, 재생에너지 보급과 에너지전환 정책을 선도하는 대표 지자체로서의 위상을 다시 한번 입증했다.

◆ 시흥형 에너지전환 생태계 구축 인정

'대한민국 솔라리그'는 지역 에너지전환에 기여하고, 기후 위기에 대응하기 위해 재생에너지 확대와 태양광 보급에 앞장선 지자체·민간 모범사례를 발굴하는 대회다. 시는 ▲기후대응 및 재생에너지 100% 사용(RE100) 전담조직 구성 ▲관계기관과의 업무협약을 통한 정책 기반 마련 ▲신재생에너지 보급사업 추진 ▲시민 참여형 태양광 발전소(505kW) 건립 ▲공공건물 태양광 발전시설(487kW) 설치 ▲기타 에너지원 보급 등 '시흥형 에너지전환 생태계 구축' 노력을 인정받아 지자체 정책성과 부문에서 최우수상을 받았다.

◆ 탄소중립 정책 강화 의지

임병택 시흥시장은 "이번 수상은 시흥시가 지속 가능한 에너지전환 도시로 나아가기 위한 정책 실행력을 다시 한번 인정받은 결과"라며 "앞으로도 시민과 함께하는 탄소중립 정책을 강화하고, 재생에너지 보급이 생활 속에서 체감될 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다"고 말했다.

◆ Receives Korea Solar League Grand Prize

Siheung City (Mayor Lim Byung-taek) received the Grand Prize (Korea Energy Agency Chairman Award) at the '7th Korea Solar League (K-Solar League)' held at the outdoor stage of Jeongjo Hyo Park in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province on November 5. With this award, the city achieved its second consecutive year award following last year's Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, once again proving its status as a representative local government leading renewable energy distribution and energy transition policies.

◆ Recognition of Siheung-Type Energy Transition Ecosystem Construction

The 'Korea Solar League' is a competition that discovers exemplary cases of local governments and private sector leading renewable energy expansion and solar power distribution to contribute to regional energy transition and respond to climate crisis. The city received the Grand Prize in the local government policy achievement category for its efforts in 'constructing a Siheung-type energy transition ecosystem' including ▲organizing a dedicated organization for climate response and 100% renewable energy use (RE100) ▲establishing policy foundation through business agreements with related organizations ▲promoting new and renewable energy distribution projects ▲building citizen participatory solar power plants (505kW) ▲installing solar power facilities in public buildings (487kW) ▲distributing other energy sources.

◆ Commitment to Strengthening Carbon Neutrality Policy

Siheung City Mayor Lim Byung-taek stated, "This award is a result of Siheung City's policy execution capability being recognized once again for advancing toward a sustainable energy transition city," adding "We will continue to strengthen carbon neutrality policies with citizens and continuously support renewable energy distribution so it can be felt in daily life."
