수원시, 정전 대비해 유관기관과 구도심지역 변압기 등 전력시설 20개소 합동점검
수원시가 정전 사고로 인한 주민 불편을 해소하기 위해 선제적으로 대책 마련에 나섰다.
최근 노후 변압기·개폐기 등 문제로 아파트나 구도심 지역의 정전 사고가 빈번하게 발생해 주민들이 불편을 겪고 있다. 수원시는 지난 9월 한국전력공사, 한국전기안전공사 관계자와 회의를 열고 정전 예방을 위한 대책과 정전 발생 시 대응 방안을 논의했다.
또 한국전력공사 관계자와 함께 구도심 지역의 변압기 등 전력 시설 20개소를 대상으로 10월 27일까지 점검을 했다. 육안 점검과 열화상 카메라를 활용한 정밀 점검을 병행하며 전력 시설의 상태를 점검했다. 현장 점검을 토대로 수원시는 관계 기관과 함께 정전 발생 예방 대책, 정전 발생 시 대응 대책을 마련했다.
수원시는 공동주택의 전력 시설물을 대상으로 한국전기안전공사와 지속해서 합동점검을 하고, 노후 변압기는 아파트 측에 교체를 안내해 공동주택의 정전 사고를 최소화할 계획이다. 또 구도심 지역 정전 사고 예방을 위해 한전 측에 전력 시설물 상시 점검·전력 사용 급증 시 특별 관리를 요청했다. 한전은 상시 점검반을 연중 운영하고, 전력 사용이 급증하는 하절기 등에는 특별 관리를 할 예정이다. 정전 사고가 발생하면 수원시와 한국전력공사, 한국전기안전공사가 함께 긴급대응체계를 마련하여 이른 시간 안에 신속하게 복구하기로 협의했다. 수원시 관계자는 "정전 사고는 예측할 수 없는 불가피한 사항이라는 고정관념을 버리고, 예방과 대응책을 바탕으로 선제 대응하겠다"며 "주민 피해가 발생하지 않도록 지속해서 노력하겠다"고 말했다.

Additionally, together with Korea Electric Power Corporation officials, the city inspected 20 power facilities including transformers in old downtown areas until October 27. The city checked the condition of power facilities by conducting both visual inspections and precision inspections using thermal imaging cameras. Based on on-site inspections, Suwon City prepared power outage prevention measures and response measures when outages occur together with related agencies.
Suwon City plans to continuously conduct joint inspections with Korea Electrical Safety Corporation targeting power facilities in apartment complexes and guide the replacement of old transformers to apartment management to minimize power outages in apartment complexes. The city also requested KEPCO to conduct regular inspections of power facilities and special management when power usage surges to prevent power outages in old downtown areas. KEPCO will operate regular inspection teams year-round and conduct special management during summer when power usage surges. The city agreed to establish an emergency response system together with Korea Electric Power Corporation and Korea Electrical Safety Corporation to quickly restore power in a short time when power outages occur. A Suwon City official stated, "We will abandon the stereotype that power outages are unpredictable and unavoidable incidents and respond preemptively based on prevention and response measures," adding, "We will continue to make efforts to prevent damage to residents."
