군포시는 10월 18일 시민체육광장에서 군포시 구간 경부선과 안산선이 연말 철도지하화 국가계획에 포함되기를 촉구하는 결의대회를 개최했다. 2,000여 명의 시민이 참가해 군포시를 관통하는 지상철도의 조속한 지하화를 촉구했다. 결의문에는 철도의 특수성을 감안한 경부선 안산선의 동시 지하화와 연말 발표되는 국가종합계획인 철도지하화 종합계획 반영을 촉구하는 내용이 담겼다. 군포시철도지하화범시민추진위 공동대표 2인이 결의문을 낭독하고 하은호 군포시장에게 전달했다.

시는 결의문을 9월 추진위 대표들로부터 받은 경부선 안산선 동시 지하화 청원서와 함께 10월 중 국토교통부에 제출할 예정이다. 이날 결의대회는 지금까지 군포시를 단절하고 도시 환경과 발전을 저해하는 지상철도의 지하화 당위성과 시급성을 정부에 강력 촉구하고 지난 5월 군포시가 제출한 철도지하화 종합계획 제안서의 국가 계획 반영이 핵심이다.
◆ 하은호 시장 "새로운 성장 동력"...11월 2차 결의대회·서명운동
하은호 군포시장은 "지상철도의 특수성을 감안할 때 경부선 안산선 철도의 두 노선 동시 지하화는 불가피한 현실"이라며 "철도지하화 및 지상부 개발은 군포시의 새로운 성장 동력이 될 것이기에 경부선, 안산선 철도의 국가계획 반영을 적극 기대하고 있다"고 밝혔다. 시는 11월 범시민추진위원회 중심으로 일반시민이 참가하는 2차 결의대회를 준비하고 있으며 군포시민 대상 서명운동도 동시에 추진해 그 결과물을 12월 철도지하화 국가계획 발표 전 국토교통부에 전달할 예정이다.

Gunpo Mayor Ha Eun-ho said, "Considering the specificity of above-ground railways, simultaneous underground of the two lines of Gyeongbu and Ansan railways is an inevitable reality," and "Since railway underground and above-ground development will become a new growth engine for Gunpo City, I am actively expecting reflection of Gyeongbu and Ansan railways in the national plan." The city is preparing a second resolution rally in which ordinary citizens will participate centered on the Pan-Citizen Promotion Committee in November and is simultaneously promoting a signature campaign for Gunpo citizens, and plans to deliver the results to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport before the December railway underground national plan announcement.
