고양특례시는 12일부터 4월 말까지 2026년 제1단계 공공근로사업을 시행한다. 시는 지난 11월 신청을 받아 550명 중 119명을 선발했다. 경쟁률은 4.7대1을 기록했다.
◆ 환경미화부터 시설관리까지 다양한 분야 배치
선발된 근로자는 무단투기 집중 관리지역 환경미화, 건축물대장 전산화 작업, 고양시 드론비행장 이용객 안전관리, 브랜드 관광기념품관 운영·관리 등 공공시설 업무를 맡는다. 65세 미만은 주 25시간, 65세 이상은 주 15시간을 근무한다. 임금은 2026년 최저임금인 시간당 10,320원과 부대경비, 주휴·월차수당을 지급한다.
◆ 실직자·저소득층 대상, 연중 3단계 운영
참여 조건은 실직 상태이거나 정기 소득이 없고, 재산 4억 8천만 원 미만, 기준중위소득 60% 이하인 18세 이상 고양시민이다. 시는 취업취약계층에게 한시적 일자리를 제공해 소득을 보전하고 안정적 일자리를 찾도록 지원한다. 제2단계 공공근로사업은 3월 중 각 주소지 행정복지센터에서 신청을 받고, 5월부터 업무를 시작할 예정이다. 공공근로사업은 연중 3단계로 운영된다.

Goyang Special City launched the first phase of its 2026 public works project from the 12th until the end of April. The city received applications in November and selected 119 people out of 550 applicants. The competition rate was 4.7 to 1.
◆ Assignments Range from Environmental Cleanup to Facility Management
Selected workers will handle tasks including environmental cleanup in illegal dumping areas, digitization of building registers, safety management for users at Goyang City drone flight sites, and operation and management of brand tourism souvenir halls and other public facilities. Those under 65 years old will work 25 hours per week, while those 65 and older will work 15 hours per week. Wages will be paid at the 2026 minimum wage of 10,320 won per hour, plus incidental expenses and weekly and monthly leave allowances.
◆ Targeting Unemployed and Low-Income Groups, Three Phases Throughout the Year
Eligibility requirements include being unemployed or without regular income, having assets below 480 million won, and earning below 60% of the median income. Applicants must be Goyang City residents aged 18 or older. The city provides temporary jobs to vulnerable groups to help them maintain income and gain public work experience while seeking stable employment. The second phase of the public works project will accept applications at local administrative welfare centers in March, with work beginning in May. The public works project operates in three phases throughout the year.
