의왕경찰서와 경기도소방재난본부에 따르면 이날 오후 4시 9분께 아파트 내 골프연습장에서 쓰러진 사람이 있다는 119 신고가 접수됐다. 소방당국은 오후 4시 31분께 심정지 상태인 김 시장을 인근 병원으로 이송했다.

김 시장은 평소 지병이 없었던 것으로 알려졌다. 병원에서 실시한 뇌 검사에서는 이상이 없었으며 현재 심혈관계 관련 검사를 진행하고 있다.

시 관계자는 "최근 행사 등 일정이 많아 과로한 상태에서 운동을 하다가 쓰러진 것으로 보인다"며 "자세한 것은 검사 결과를 봐야 알 수 있다"고 밝혔다.

According to Uiwang Police Station and Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters a 119 emergency call was received at approximately 4:09 p.m. reporting a person collapsed at a golf practice range inside an apartment complex. Fire authorities transported Mayor Kim who was in cardiac arrest to a nearby hospital at approximately 4:31 p.m.

Mayor Kim reportedly had no pre-existing medical conditions. Brain scans conducted at the hospital showed no abnormalities and cardiovascular tests are currently underway.

A city official stated "It appears he collapsed while exercising in an overworked state due to many recent events and schedules" and added "We will need to see the test results for details."
