◆ 백해룡 경정 검찰 수사 결과 반박

백 경정은 합수단 수사 결과 발표 직후 관세청과 서울중앙지검 등 6곳에 대한 압수수색 영장을 신청했다고 밝혔다. 10일에는 현장검증 조서 초안도 공개했다. 동부지검은 10일 백 경정이 사전협의 없이 독자적으로 언론에 대응하자 경찰청 감찰과에 공보 규칙 위반과 개인정보 보호 침해 등을 이유로 적절한 조치를 요청하는 공문을 보냈다. 임은정 서울동부지검장은 자신의 SNS에 "느낌과 추측을 사실과 구분해서 말씀해야 한다"고 적었다. 백 경정은 "제 입을 막고 손발을 묶어 놓으려고 임은정 동부지검장이 공보규칙 위반 책임을 물어 수사를 못 하게 하는 것"이라고 반박했다.

◆ 파견 경위 및 수사 범위 논란

백 경정은 이재명 대통령의 지시를 받아 지난 10월 15일 합수단에 파견됐다. 동부지검은 5명 규모의 '백해룡팀'을 별도로 신설하고 백 경정에게 수사전결권을 부여했다. 백 경정 본인과 관련된 수사 외압 사건을 제외한 인천지검 마약 수사 은폐 의혹 등을 수사하도록 조치했다. 그러나 백 경정은 지난달 14일 파견 기간 연장과 형사사법정보시스템(KICS) 사용 권한을 부여받자 자신과 관련된 마약수사전담팀에 대해서도 수사하겠다고 밝혔다. 동부지검은 "이해충돌 우려가 있는 수사는 중복수사, 인권침해의 우려가 있고 법령위반 소지도 있다"고 경고했다.
