박승원 광명시장은 10월 20일 평생학습원 강당에서 열린 ‘2025년 광명시 교육정책 간담회’에서 아이들이 지역 속에서 배우고 성장할 수 있는 교육공동체를 확립하겠다고 밝혔다. 간담회에는 김명순 광명교육지원청 교육장과 관내 초·중·고 학부모 100여 명이 참석해 교육정책에 대한 의견을 교환했다.

박 시장은 “교육은 학교뿐만 아니라 지역사회에서도 이뤄져야 한다”며 “지역사회가 교육의 동반자로서 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 시 차원의 행정적·재정적 지원을 강화하겠다”고 말했다. 이어 “학부모·학생·학교의 의견을 정책에 반영할 수 있는 다양한 창구를 마련하겠다”고 덧붙였다. 학부모들은 ▲미래교육협력지구 사업 안정적 예산 지원 ▲초등학교 현장학습 프로그램 운영 ▲통학로 정비와 방과후 안전 확보 등 의견을 제시했다.

광명시는 이번 간담회를 계기로 학부모와의 지속적 소통 기반을 강화하고, 지역사회와 학교가 함께 참여하는 협력형 교육정책을 추진할 계획이다. 현재 시는 ▲보편적 교육복지 지원 ▲학교 환경 개선 및 학생 통학 지원 ▲학교 복합시설 운영 ▲청소년 학습 지원 프로그램 ▲디지털혁신교육센터 운영 등 다양한 교육사업을 진행하고 있다.

The announcement was made at the “2025 Gwangmyeong Education Policy Meeting” held at the Lifelong Learning Center, attended by Kim Myung-soon, head of Gwangmyeong Education Office, and approximately 100 parents of elementary, middle, and high school students.

Mayor Park emphasized, “Education should take place not only in schools but throughout the community. The city will strengthen administrative and financial support to enable the community to act as a partner in education.” He added that the city will provide multiple channels for parents, students, and schools to voice their opinions. Parents suggested measures including stable budget support for future education collaboration projects, field trip programs for elementary schools, and improvements to school routes and after-school safety.

The city plans to use this meeting as a foundation for ongoing communication with parents and to promote cooperative education policies involving the community and schools. Current initiatives include universal educational welfare, school environment improvements and commuting support, operation of school complex facilities, youth learning programs, and a digital innovation education center.
