◆재외동포청 개청 후 최대 규모 국제 경제행사
인천시는 '제29차 세계한인경제인대회' 및 '2025 Korea Business Expo Incheon'을 10월 27일부터 30일까지 송도컨벤시아에서 개최한다고 21일 밝혔다. 이번 대회는 재외동포청 개청 후 처음 열리는 최대 규모 국제 경제행사다. 전 세계 한인 경제인과 해외 바이어, 국내 기업인 등 약 2천명이 참가한다. 인천시는 지난해 8월 대회 유치 신청 과정에서 국제적 접근성과 산업 인프라, 국제 비즈니스 환경과 행사 경험을 인정받아 개최지로 선정됐다.
◆통상·투자 프로그램 운영...117억 원 경제효과
대회는 '한민족 경제 네트워크의 세계화와 지속가능한 협력'을 주제로 진행된다. 통상위원회 회의, 수출상담회, 투자유치설명회, 글로벌 스타트업 대회, 글로벌 취업설명회, 문화공연 등을 연다. 동반성장위원회가 공동 주관사로 처음 참여해 대기업 및 공공기관이 국내 중소기업의 내수 판로 개척을 지원하는 동반성장 구매상담회를 연다. 인천연구원 분석에 따르면 이번 대회의 직·간접 경제효과는 약 117억 원이다. 생산유발효과는 71억 원, 부가가치유발효과는 40억 원, 취업유발효과는 102명이다. 지난해 오스트리아 빈 대회에서 인천 기업들은 약 1,258만 달러(약 170억 원) 규모의 수출계약을 체결했다.
◆인천 홍보관 운영...글로벌 경제도시 도약 계기
인천시는 대회 기간 송도컨벤시아에 인천 홍보관과 '재외동포 인천방문의 해' 홍보부스를 운영한다. 참가자 스탬프 투어, 동반자 웰니스 투어, 인천문화예술회관 공연, 첨단기술기업 및 글로벌캠퍼스 산업시찰 등을 진행한다. 인천시립무용단이 환영공연을 주관하고 인천 대표 전통주를 활용한 환영만찬을 연다. 유정복 시장은 "세계한인경제인대회의 인천 개최는 재외동포청이 위치한 인천이 한민족 네트워크의 중심지임을 보여주는 전환점"이라며 "이번 대회를 계기로 인천이 글로벌 경제도시로 도약할 것"이라고 말했다.

◆Incheon PR center operation...Opportunity to leap as global economic city
Incheon City will operate the Incheon PR center and 'Visit Incheon Year for Overseas Koreans' booth at Songdo Convensia during the convention period. The city will conduct participant stamp tours, companion wellness tours, Incheon Arts Center performances, and high-tech company and global campus industrial tours. Incheon City Dance Company will host the welcome performance and hold a welcome dinner using Incheon's representative traditional liquor. Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok said, "The hosting of the World Korean Business Convention in Incheon is a turning point that shows Incheon, where the Overseas Koreans Agency is located, is the center of the Korean ethnic network," adding "This convention will be a turning point for Incheon to leap forward as a global economic city."
