고양특례시(시장 이동환)는 외국인 관광객 유치를 위한 의료관광 홍보를 강화하고자 인천국제공항 환승객 라운지에 영문 의료관광 안내책자를 비치했다고 21일 밝혔다.
이번에 배포된 안내책자는 '메디시티 고양(MEDICITY GOYANG)'을 주제로, 고양시의 주요 의료기관과 관광명소, 숙박·교통 정보를 종합적으로 담고 있다. 특히 국립암센터, 명지병원, 동국대일산병원 등 지역 내 우수 의료기관의 전문 진료서비스를 상세히 소개하며, QR코드를 통해 의료관광 플랫폼 「다도라 GOYANG」에 즉시 접속할 수 있도록 구성해 이용 편의성을 높였다.
고양시는 인천국제공항을 경유하는 환승객이 연간 수천만 명에 달한다는 점에 주목, 공항 환승객 라운지 및 관광안내소를 활용한 전략적 홍보를 확대하고 있다.
서은원 관광과장은 "인천국제공항은 세계 각국의 관광객이 한국을 처음 경험하는 관문"이라며 "공항 내 의료관광 안내책자 배포를 통해 고양시의 우수한 의료 인프라와 관광자원을 널리 알리고, 외국인 관광객의 실제 방문으로 이어질 수 있도록 지속적으로 노력하겠다"고 밝혔다.
한편, 고양시는 '메디시티 고양' 브랜드를 중심으로 의료와 관광을 융합한 글로벌 헬스케어 도시 조성을 목표로 의료관광협회와 긴밀히 협력하며 적극적인 행정 지원을 펼치고 있다.

Featured healthcare providers include the National Cancer Center, Myongji Hospital, and Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital, all of which offer specialized medical services.
To enhance accessibility, the brochures include QR codes that link directly to the "Dadola GOYANG" medical tourism platform, allowing travelers to access detailed information and services with a simple scan.
The strategic placement at Incheon International Airport targets the airport's tens of millions of annual transit passengers, leveraging one of Asia's busiest aviation hubs to promote Goyang's healthcare tourism sector.
"Incheon International Airport is the gateway where visitors from around the world get their first glimpse of Korea," said Seo Eun-won, Director of the Tourism Division. "By placing these brochures in the airport, we're showcasing Goyang's exceptional medical infrastructure and tourism resources, working to convert traveler interest into actual visits."
The initiative is part of Goyang's broader strategy to establish itself as a global healthcare destination under the "MEDICITY GOYANG" brand. The city is working closely with the Medical Tourism Association to integrate medical services with tourism, backed by comprehensive administrative support.
