오는 12월 국토교통부가 철도지하화 종합개발계획을 발표할 예정인 가운데 군포에 놓인 철도를 지하화 하기 위한 시민들의 노력이 본격화되고 있다.
30여개 단체 합류…조직 확대 개편
2022년 재개발연합회, 재건축연합회, 리모델링연합회, 아파트연합회 등이 주축이 돼 발족한 '당정역~서울역 지하화 군포범시민추진위원회'는 9월 26일 군포시청 중회의실에서 조직 확대 개편을 위한 임시총회를 가졌다.
이날 총회에서는 체육회, 통장협의회, 새마을회, 주민자치회 등 30여 개의 단체들이 합류했다.
하은호 군포시장, 이학영 국회부의장, 김귀근 군포시의회의장, 정윤경 경기도의회 부의장, 최진학 국민의힘 군포당협위원장, 이영식 군포시노인회장, 주근동 군포문화원장 7인을 고문으로 추대했다.
단체명도 '군포시 철도지하화 범시민추진위원회'로 변경했다. 경부선 1호선, 안산선 4호선 군포 구간 지하화를 위해 시민역량을 총결집하기로 했다.
18일 1차 결의대회…11월 2차 결의대회 예정
추진위원회는 10월 18일 토요일 오전 9시 40분 시민체육광장에서 열리는 시민의날 기념 체육대회의 개막식 식전행사로 군포시 철도지하화 촉구 1차 결의대회를 연다. 군포시민의 철도지하화에 대한 열망을 대내외에 천명할 예정이다.
10월 중으로 범시민추진위원회에 참여하는 군포시 단체장 1천여명의 연서로 국토교통부에 청원서를 접수한다.
11월 중으로 지하화 촉구 서명운동을 전개한 결과물을 중앙정부에 제출하면서 2차 결의대회를 열 계획이다.
"군포 구간 6개 전철역 지하화 역량 총결집"
이영호 군포신문 대표의 사회로 진행된 이날 임시총회에는 하은호 시장, 정윤경 도의회부의장, 최진학 국민의힘 위원장, 이영식 노인회장, 주근동 문화원장 등이 참석해 지하화 결의를 다졌다.
한진운 재개발연합회장, 김공주 학교운영위원장협의회장, 김사녀 주민자치회 회장, 김선옥 통장협의회 회장, 김순희 지역사회보장협의체 회장, 김정옥 리모델링연합회 회장, 김창원 재건축연합회 회장, 박상환 장애인단체총연합회 회장, 서태연 새마을회 회장, 이성민 자율방범대 연합대장도 참석했다.
이세균 상인연합회 회장, 이택진 미래도시가치추진단 대표, 정진호 장애인체육회 사무국장, 주성하 위생단체협의회 회장, 채경택 아파트연합회 회장, 한항교 안전보안관 회장도 참석해 "군포시 구간 6개 전철역 지하화를 위해 모든 역량을 총결집하자"고 힘을 보탰다.
올해 12월 국토부의 철도지하화 종합개발계획 발표 때까지 한시적으로 운영되는 '군포시 철도지하화 범시민추진위원회'는 군포 구간 전철의 지하화를 열망하는 시민 누구나 참여할 수 있다. 사회단체, 동호회 등 단체장은 공동대표로 합류가능하다. 사무국은 군포신문사가 맡는다.
"지하화돼야 군포 미래 새로 그릴 수 있어"
하은호 군포시장은 그간의 경과를 설명하며 "군포를 동서남북 네조각으로 조각낸 철도가 지하화돼야 우리는 온전히 회복된 대지위에 우리 힘으로 군포의 미래를 새로 그릴 수 있게 된다"고 강조했다.

About 30 Organizations Join…Organization Expansion and Reorganization
The 'Dangjung Station to Seoul Station Underground Gunpo Civic Committee', launched in 2022 with redevelopment associations, reconstruction associations, remodeling associations, and apartment associations as the main axis, held an extraordinary general meeting for organizational expansion and reorganization in the medium conference room of Gunpo City Hall on September 26.
At that day's general meeting, about 30 organizations including the Sports Council, Heads of Village Association, Saemaul Association, and Residents' Autonomy Association joined.
Seven people were appointed as advisors: Gunpo Mayor Ha Eun-ho, National Assembly Vice Speaker Lee Hak-young, Gunpo City Council Chairman Kim Gwi-geun, Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Vice Chairman Jeong Yun-kyung, People Power Party Gunpo Party Committee Chairman Choi Jin-hak, Gunpo City Senior Citizens Association President Lee Young-sik, and Gunpo Culture Center Director Joo Geun-dong.
The organization name was also changed to 'Gunpo City Railroad Underground Civic Committee'. It was decided to mobilize all citizen capacity for the underground of the Gyeongbu Line (Line 1) and Ansan Line (Line 4) Gunpo section.
1st Resolution Rally on 18th…2nd Resolution Rally Scheduled for November
The promotion committee will hold the 1st resolution rally urging the underground of Gunpo City Railroad as a pre-opening event for the sports competition commemorating Citizens' Day held at the Citizen Sports Plaza at 9:40 AM on Saturday, October 18. It plans to declare the aspiration of Gunpo citizens for railroad underground both internally and externally.
In October, a petition will be submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport with the joint signatures of about 1,000 heads of Gunpo City organizations participating in the civic promotion committee.
In November, the committee plans to hold a 2nd resolution rally while submitting the results of a signature campaign urging underground to the central government.
"Mobilize All Capacity for Underground of 6 Subway Stations in Gunpo Section"
At that day's extraordinary general meeting hosted by Gunpo Newspaper CEO Lee Young-ho, Mayor Ha Eun-ho, Provincial Assembly Vice Chairman Jeong Yun-kyung, People Power Party Chairman Choi Jin-hak, Senior Citizens Association President Lee Young-sik, and Culture Center Director Joo Geun-dong attended and pledged their commitment to underground.
Redevelopment Association President Han Jin-woon, School Management Committee Chairpersons' Council President Kim Gong-joo, Residents' Autonomy Association President Kim Sa-nyeo, Heads of Village Association President Kim Seon-ok, Community Security Council President Kim Soon-hee, Remodeling Association President Kim Jeong-ok, Reconstruction Association President Kim Chang-won, Federation of Organizations for the Disabled President Park Sang-hwan, Saemaul Association President Seo Tae-yeon, and Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit Commander Lee Seong-min also attended.
Merchants Association President Lee Se-gyun, Future City Value Promotion Group Representative Lee Taek-jin, Sports Association for the Disabled Secretary General Jeong Jin-ho, Sanitation Organizations Council President Joo Seong-ha, Apartment Association President Chae Kyung-taek, and Safety Security Officers Association President Han Hang-kyo also attended and added support, saying "Let's mobilize all capacity for the underground of 6 subway stations in the Gunpo section."
The 'Gunpo City Railroad Underground Civic Committee', which will operate temporarily until the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's announcement of the comprehensive development plan for railroad underground in December this year, is open to any citizen who aspires for the underground of the Gunpo section subway. Heads of social organizations and clubs can join as co-representatives. The secretariat is handled by Gunpo Newspaper.
"Underground Needed to Redraw Gunpo's Future"
Gunpo Mayor Ha Eun-ho explained the progress so far and emphasized, "The railroad that has divided Gunpo into four pieces—east, west, south, and north—must be underground so that we can redraw Gunpo's future with our own strength on fully recovered land."
