광명시가 3분기 만에 올해 친환경 자동차 확대 목표를 107.4％ 초과 달성하는 성과를 거뒀다.
9월말 기준 4127대 등록…목표 3843대 초과
15일 시에 따르면 9월 말 현재 올해 광명시에 등록한 전기 승용차, 하이브리드차, 전기 화물차 등 친환경 자동차는 총 4127대다. 올해 목표는 3843대였다.
이로써 광명시 친환경 자동차는 총 1만5004대로, 9월 기준 광명시 전체 등록 차량 11만1178대의 13.5％를 기록했다.
친환경 자동차 등록 비율은 2023년 8.7％, 2024년 11.2％로 꾸준히 증가하는 추세다.
올해 등록된 친환경 자동차의 온실가스 감축 효과는 2540tCO₂eq이다. 이는 수령 10년 나무 70만여 그루를 심은 것과 맞먹는 환경 효과다.
시비 부담률 47.6%로 높여…1대당 최대 400만원 지원
시는 이 같은 성과의 배경으로 꾸준한 친환경 자동차 구매 지원 정책을 꼽았다.
국비 보조금이 지난해 44억3000만 원에서 올해 초 29억6000만 원으로 14억7000만 원 줄어든 상황에서도, 시는 시비 27억1000만 원을 확보했다.
시비 부담률을 42.9％에서 47.6％로 높여 친환경 자동차의 안정적 보급 기반을 마련했다.
이에 따라 3년 연속 친환경 자동차 1대당 최대 400만 원의 보조금을 지원해 시민들의 구매 부담을 줄이고, 친환경 자동차 보급 확대를 적극 유도했다.
전기차 충전기 2351기 설치…1기당 1.2대 수준
시는 친환경 자동차 이용 확대가 일시적 현상에 머물지 않고 지속 가능한 이용 환경을 조성하기 위해 충전 인프라 확충에도 주력하고 있다.
현재 전기차 충전기 2351기가 설치돼 있으며, 충전기 1기당 전기차 1.2대 수준으로 안정적이고 편리한 충전 환경을 조성했다.
박승원 광명시장은 "탄소중립을 위한 시의 정책에 시민들이 적극적으로 참여한 결과, 친환경 자동차 확대 성과를 거뒀다"고 말했다.
그는 "앞으로도 시민의 실천과 행정의 노력이 조화를 이루는 정책을 추진해 광명시를 탄소중립 선도 도시로 만들겠다"고 덧붙였다.

As a result, the total number of eco-friendly vehicles in Gwangmyeong City is 15,004, accounting for 13.5% of the city's total registered vehicles of 111,178 as of September.
The registration rate of eco-friendly vehicles has been steadily increasing to 8.7% in 2023 and 11.2% in 2024.

City Budget Burden Rate Raised to 47.6%…Maximum 4 Million Won Support per Vehicle
The city cited consistent eco-friendly vehicle purchase support policies as the background for this achievement.
Even though government subsidies decreased by 1.47 billion won from 4.43 billion won last year to 2.96 billion won at the beginning of this year, the city secured 2.71 billion won in city funds.
The city budget burden rate was raised from 42.9% to 47.6%, establishing a stable supply base for eco-friendly vehicles.
Accordingly, for three consecutive years, subsidies of up to 4 million won per eco-friendly vehicle were provided to reduce citizens' purchase burden and actively encourage the expansion of eco-friendly vehicle supply.
2,351 Electric Vehicle Chargers Installed…1.2 Vehicles per Charger
The city is also focusing on expanding charging infrastructure to ensure that the expansion of eco-friendly vehicle use does not remain a temporary phenomenon but creates a sustainable usage environment.
Currently, 2,351 electric vehicle chargers are installed, creating a stable and convenient charging environment at a level of 1.2 electric vehicles per charger.
Gwangmyeong Mayor Park Seung-won said, "As a result of citizens actively participating in the city's policies for carbon neutrality, we achieved eco-friendly vehicle expansion results."
He added, "We will continue to promote policies that harmonize citizen practice and administrative efforts to make Gwangmyeong City a leading carbon-neutral city."
