제34대 신협중앙회장에 고영철 광주문화신협 이사장

자산 157조 원 규모 신협을 이끌 제34대 중앙회장으로 고영철 광주문화신협 이사장이 선출됐다.

신협중앙회는 7일 대전 유성구 신협중앙연수원에서 실시한 선거에서 고영철 이사장이 당선됐다고 밝혔다. 선거인단 863명 가운데 784명이 투표에 참여했고, 고 당선인은 301표(득표율 38.4%)를 얻었다.

고 당선인은 1959년생으로 조선대 회계학과를 졸업했다. 전국 자산규모 2위인 광주문화신협에서 실무책임자, 상임이사, 이사장을 역임했다. 2022년부터 신협중앙회 이사로 활동했다.

고 당선인은 2월 말 임기가 만료되는 김윤식 현 회장에 이어 3월 1일 취임한다.

◆ Secured 38.4% of votes on Jan. 7; takes office March 1

Koh Young-chul, Chairman of Gwangju Munhwa Credit Union, was elected as the 34th President of the Korean Federation of Community Credit Cooperatives (KFCC), which oversees credit unions with total assets of 157 trillion won.

KFCC announced on January 7 that Chairman Koh was elected in the presidential election held at the KFCC Training Center in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. Of the 863-member electorate, 784 cast votes, and President-elect Koh secured 301 votes (38.4%).

President-elect Koh was born in 1959 and graduated from the Accounting Department of Chosun University. He served as chief operating officer, standing director, and chairman at Gwangju Munhwa Credit Union, which ranks second nationwide in asset size. He has served as a KFCC board member since 2022.

President-elect Koh will take office on March 1, succeeding current President Kim Yun-sik whose term expires at the end of February.
