인천광역시 유정복 시장이 12월 16일 상수도사업본부 서부수도사업소를 방문했다. 겨울철 한파로 인한 급수 불편을 예방하고 안정적인 수돗물 공급 체계를 유지하기 위함이다.
유 시장은 청라동, 가정동, 신현원창동, 연희동 등 서구 지역을 중심으로 누수 방지 대책과 주요 현안을 점검했다. 현장 직원들로부터 동절기 급수대책 추진 현황을 보고받은 후 24시간 급수 안전을 위해 근무하는 직원들을 격려했다.
상수도사업본부는 지난 12월 1일 동절기 급수대책을 수립했다. 대책 시행 기간은 2025년 12월 1일부터 2026년 3월 15일까지다. 급수 상황실 운영과 비상 인력 편성을 통해 24시간 신속 대응체계를 가동한다.

인천시는 동파 예방에 집중한다. 디지털 수도계량기 설치를 지속 확대하고, 동파 방지 효과가 우수한 계량기 보급과 보온재 보강, 보호통 교체 사업을 병행 추진한다. 이를 통해 전년 대비 계량기 동파 발생 건수를 10% 이상 줄일 목표다.
취·정수장, 배수지, 가압장 등 주요 수도시설에 대한 사전점검을 강화해 시설 고장으로 인한 시민 불편을 최소화할 계획이다. 동파 예방 요령에 대한 시민 홍보 활동도 적극 추진한다.

The mayor reviewed leak prevention measures and key issues primarily in the Seo-gu region, including Cheongna-dong, Gajeong-dong, Shinwonwonchang-dong, and Yeonhui-dong. After receiving a report on the progress of winter water supply measures from officials, he encouraged staff working around the clock to ensure water safety.
The Water Works Bureau established its winter water supply plan on December 1. The plan runs from December 1, 2025, through March 15, 2026. The bureau operates a 24-hour rapid response system through continuous operation of a water supply control room and deployment of emergency personnel.
Incheon focuses on freezing prevention. The city expands the installation of digital water meters, supplies meters with superior freezing prevention effects, reinforces insulation materials, and replaces protective housings. Through these measures, the city targets a 10 percent or greater reduction in frozen water meter incidents compared to the previous year.
The city strengthens pre-inspection of major water facilities including water purification plants, distribution reservoirs, and pressurized stations to minimize disruption from facility failures. Public awareness campaigns on freezing prevention methods are being actively promoted.
