12월 정기분 자동차세(지방교육세 포함)는 전년 대비 약 1억 원 증가했다. 인천시는 연납 신청 감소로 부과액이 늘었으나, 친환경 자동차 보급 확대로 세수가 감소하면서 결과적으로 전년 수준을 유지했다고 설명했다.

자동차세는 매해 6월과 12월에 두 차례 부과된다. 이번 12월분은 12월 1일 기준 인천시에 등록된 일반 자동차뿐 아니라 덤프트럭, 콘크리트믹서트럭 등 건설기계 소유자도 대상이다.

하반기 신규 등록 차량이나 명의 이전 차량은 실제 소유 기간을 기준으로 일할 계산하여 부과된다. 연간 세액을 이미 납부한 차량은 12월 부과 대상에서 제외된다.

납부 기간은 12월 16일부터 12월 31일까지다. 납부 방법은 은행 직방문, 위택스(www.wetax.go.kr), 온라인 계좌이체, 스마트 위택스 앱, 텔레뱅킹(ARS) 등이다. 공휴일과 야간에도 납부 가능하다.

자동차세 관련 문의는 해당 군·구 세무부서에 신청하면 된다.

인천시 재정기획관 이태산은 "시민 납부 편의를 위해 i-스마트 납부알림 서비스를 운영하고 지하철 행선기, 금융기관 현금인출기 등 다양한 매체로 홍보할 예정"이라며 "12월 31일까지 납부하여 가산세 등의 불이익을 받지 않도록 당부한다"고 말했다.

Incheon Metropolitan City imposed 121.4 billion won in December 2025 vehicle taxes. The number of taxed units totaled approximately 720,000.

The December regular vehicle tax (including local education tax) increased by approximately 100 million won compared to the previous year. Incheon City explained that while the tax amount increased due to a decline in annual payment applications, the overall tax revenue remained at previous year levels as the expansion of eco-friendly vehicle supply offset the revenue decline.

Vehicle taxes are imposed twice annually in June and December. This December's tax targets not only general vehicles registered in Incheon as of December 1, but also construction machinery owners, including dump trucks and concrete mixer trucks.

Vehicles newly registered in the second half or vehicles with transferred ownership are subject to prorated tax calculations based on actual ownership periods. Vehicles that have already paid annual taxes once are excluded from the December assessment.

The payment period runs from December 16 to December 31. Payment methods include bank visits, WeTax (www.wetax.go.kr), online bank transfers, Smart WeTax mobile app, and telephone banking (ARS). Payment is available during holidays and late hours.

Inquiries regarding vehicle taxes can be directed to the relevant district tax office.

Lee Tae-san, Financial Planning Officer of Incheon City, stated, "We will actively operate the i-Smart payment reminder service for citizen convenience and conduct promotional activities through various media including subway information displays and financial institution ATMs. We urge citizens to pay by December 31 to avoid disadvantages such as additional penalties."
