◆ KT-경찰청 청소년 범죄 예방 RCS 메시지 발송

KT(대표이사 김영섭)는 경찰청(청장 직무대행 유재성)과 함께 폭발물 허위신고 등 신종 유형 청소년 범죄에 대한 경각심을 높이기 위해 RCS(Rich Communication Services) 메시징 서비스를 활용한 예방 활동을 시행한다고 2일 밝혔다. KT와 경찰청은 지난 11월 6일 폭발물 허위신고 예방 공익 RCS 메시지 송출을 시작했다. 3일부터 사이버 도박과 전동킥보드·픽시 자전거 불법 사용 등 신종 범죄에 대한 예방 정보를 연내 순차적으로 발송할 계획이다.

◆ 전국 20만명 대상 맞춤형 정보 제공

KT는 12월 동계 방학 기간 중 스마트폰 사용이 늘어나는 점에 착안해 사이버 도박 관련 메시지를 3일 발송한다. 가정에서 부모가 자녀의 도박 징후를 쉽게 확인할 수 있도록 주요 착안사항을 카드뉴스 형식으로 제공할 예정이다. KT는 자체 빅데이터 분석 역량과 RCS 메시징 기술을 활용해 초·중·고교생과 학부모를 연령대, 가구 형태 등 다양한 조건으로 세분화해 전국 20만 명에게 신종 범죄 예방 정보를 제공한다. RCS 메시징 기술은 기존 문자 메시지와 달리 텍스트 외에도 카드형 형식을 지원해 다양한 정보 제공에 효과적이다.

◆ 청소년 교통 범죄 예방 정보도 발송 예정

KT는 청소년 픽시 자전거 불법 사용이나 전동킥보드 운전으로 인한 사고 사례 증가를 고려해 청소년 교통 범죄 예방 안전 정보도 연내에 추가로 발송할 예정이다. 김영걸 KT 서비스Product본부장 상무는 "KT가 보유한 빅데이터를 기반으로 청소년 범죄 예방 메시징 서비스를 진행하게 돼 의미 있게 생각한다"며 "앞으로도 경찰청과 함께 청소년을 각종 범죄로부터 보호할 수 있는 예방 환경 조성에 기여할 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다. 김호승 경찰청 생활안전교통국장은 "KT와의 협력으로 변화하는 청소년 불법 요인에 대한 경각심을 높이고 예방 방법을 널리 알리는 전략적인 홍보를 진행하게 됐다"며 "청소년이 올바르게 성장할 수 있는 안전한 사회를 만들기 위해서는 사회 모두의 관심이 필요하다"고 밝혔다.

The company plans to provide key points in card news format so that parents can easily check signs of their children's gambling at home. KT utilizes its own big data analysis capabilities and RCS messaging technology to segment elementary, middle, and high school students and parents by various conditions such as age group and household type, providing new crime prevention information to 200,000 people nationwide. Unlike existing text messages, RCS messaging technology supports card-type formats in addition to text, making it effective for providing various information.

◆ Youth Traffic Crime Prevention Information Also to Be Sent

KT plans to additionally send youth traffic crime prevention safety information within this year, considering the increase in accident cases caused by illegal use of youth fixie bicycles or e-scooter driving. Kim Young-geol, Executive Vice President and Head of KT Service Product Division, said, "We find it meaningful to conduct youth crime prevention messaging services based on KT's big data," and added, "We expect to continue contributing to creating a preventive environment that can protect youth from various crimes together with the National Police Agency." Kim Ho-seung, Director of the Living Safety and Traffic Bureau at the National Police Agency, said, "Through cooperation with KT, we have been able to conduct strategic publicity to raise awareness about changing illegal factors affecting youth and widely promote prevention methods," and stated, "The interest of all of society is needed to create a safe society where youth can grow up properly."
