서울시가 연말까지 1000개에 이르는 거리가게(노점)를 정비할 방침이다.
12일 서울시에 따르면 시는 거리가게 정비 효과가 높고 보도 환경 개선이 시급한 10개 자치구에 특별조정교부금 50억2605만원을 지급한다.
대상 자치구는 종로구, 중구, 용산구, 동대문구, 중랑구, 노원구, 은평구, 양천구, 영등포구, 관악구다. 정비 대상은 거리가게 총 1021개소로, 정비 대상 구간 거리는 7200m다.
중구가 743개로 가장 많고 이어 양천구 71개, 노원구 64개, 은평구 41개, 종로구 40개 순이다.
각 자치구는 용역을 동원해 거리가게와 보도상 영업 시설물을 대상으로 계도를 한 뒤 불법 적치물을 정비한다. 이후 노점 재점유 방지를 위한 시설물(벤치, 띠녹지, 정원 등)을 설치하고, 무허가 노점 철거 후 훼손된 환경(보도, 캐노피 등)을 정비한다.
시는 사업 종료 후 자치구별 결과보고서와 정비 전·후 사진 등 증빙 자료를 제출받는다. 아울러 월 1회 시·구 합동 현장 점검을 통해 정비 실효성을 확인하고, 정비 실적과 집행률을 평가해 우수 자치구 평가 시 반영한다.

Seoul City to Clean Up 1,000 Street Vendors by Year-End
Special subsidy of 5 billion won allocated to 10 districts… Jung-gu has the most with 743
Seoul City plans to clean up approximately 1,000 street vendors (street stalls) by the end of the year.
According to Seoul City on the 12th, the city will provide special adjustment subsidies of 5,026,050,000 won to 10 autonomous districts where street vendor cleanup effects are high and sidewalk environment improvement is urgent.
The target districts are Jongno-gu, Jung-gu, Yongsan-gu, Dongdaemun-gu, Jungnang-gu, Nowon-gu, Eunpyeong-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Yeongdeungpo-gu, and Gwanak-gu. The cleanup targets total 1,021 street vendor sites, with a target section distance of 7,200m.
Jung-gu has the most with 743, followed by Yangcheon-gu with 71, Nowon-gu with 64, Eunpyeong-gu with 41, and Jongno-gu with 40.
Each autonomous district will mobilize services to provide guidance to street vendors and sidewalk business facilities, then clean up illegal deposits. Subsequently, they will install facilities (benches, strip green spaces, gardens, etc.) to prevent re-occupation by vendors, and clean up damaged environments (sidewalks, canopies, etc.) after removing unauthorized stalls.
The city will receive result reports by district and supporting materials such as before-and-after cleanup photos after the project ends. Additionally, it will verify cleanup effectiveness through monthly joint city-district on-site inspections and reflect cleanup performance and execution rates in evaluations of excellent autonomous districts.
