◆ AI 기반 산불 감시 시스템 구축
관악구(구청장 박준희)는 가을철 산불 조심 기간을 맞아 인공지능(AI) 산불 대응 시스템을 구축해 첨단 산불 대비 체계를 마련했다. 관악구는 산불방지대책본부를 운영하고 있다.
관악구는 서울시와 산림청의 지원을 통해 6월부터 9월까지 관악산 일대에 산불 감시 카메라를 설치하고 관제 시스템 구축을 완료했다. AI 기반 산불 감시 시스템은 연주대 등 관악산 주요 지점에 설치된 CCTV로 촬영된 영상을 AI가 실시간으로 분석해, 연기나 불꽃 등을 감지하면 관리자에게 즉시 알림을 전송한다.
◆ 드론 자동 출동으로 신속 대응
산불로 의심되는 경우, AI 산불 감시 시스템과 연동된 드론이 자동으로 해당 현장에 출동해 화재 발생 상황을 실시간으로 촬영하고 영상을 송신해 신속한 진화 인력 투입을 돕는다.
구 관계자는 기존 CCTV로 상황 확인이 어려운 지역까지 촘촘히 감시할 수 있어 산불 발생 위치를 더 신속하고 정확하게 파악할 수 있다고 설명했다. 관악구는 남현동 일대 관악산 주요 능선부에 평균 15m 높이의 수관수막타워 3기를 설치했다. 이 타워는 최대 40분간 반경 40m를 360도 회전하며 살수해, 원격제어 시스템으로 강풍이 부는 능선부에서 산불 확산을 안전하고 효과적으로 차단할 수 있다.
◆ 감시 사각지대 해소 위한 장비 확충
관악구는 주요 등산로와 임야 진입로 등에 산불 감시용 블랙박스를 설치해 산불 감시 사각지대를 해소하고 있다. 물 공급이 어려운 산림 내 소방호스를 연결해 사용하는 고압 수관 장비 보관함도 비치해 신속한 초기 진화에 힘쓴다.
산불 전문 예방 진화대에는 개인 진화 장비 세트를 확대 지급해 현장 대응 인력의 안전성을 높였다. 산불 취약지역에는 3톤가량의 친환경 산불 지연제를 살포해 불길 확산을 최소화한다는 방침이다.
박준희 구청장은 "AI 기술을 활용한 스마트 산불 감시체계를 통한 선제적 불씨 관리와 신속한 화재 대응으로 주민의 생명과 재산을 지키는 안전 도시 관악을 만들어 가겠다"며 "관악산을 찾는 방문객들이 안전 수칙을 지키며 단풍과 함께 깊어가는 가을을 만끽하시기를 바란다"고 말했다.

◆ AI-based forest fire surveillance system established
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) has established an artificial intelligence (AI) forest fire response system and prepared an advanced forest fire preparedness system for the fall forest fire prevention period. Gwanak-gu is operating a forest fire prevention headquarters.
Through support from Seoul City and the Korea Forest Service, Gwanak-gu installed forest fire surveillance cameras throughout Gwanaksan from June to September and completed the control system construction. The AI-based forest fire surveillance system analyzes images captured by CCTV installed at major points on Gwanaksan, such as Yeonjudae, in real-time, and immediately sends notifications to managers when smoke or flames are detected.
◆ Rapid response through automatic drone dispatch
If a forest fire is suspected, drones linked to the AI forest fire surveillance system automatically dispatch to the site, film the fire situation in real-time, and transmit video to help quickly deploy firefighting personnel.
District officials explained that the system can closely monitor areas where situation confirmation is difficult with existing CCTV, enabling faster and more accurate identification of forest fire locations. Gwanak-gu installed three canopy water curtain towers with an average height of 15m on major ridges of Gwanaksan in Namhyeon-dong. These towers can spray water in a 360-degree rotation within a 40m radius for up to 40 minutes, safely and effectively blocking forest fire spread on windy ridges through a remote control system.
◆ Equipment expansion to eliminate surveillance blind spots
Gwanak-gu is eliminating forest fire surveillance blind spots by installing forest fire surveillance black boxes on major hiking trails and forest access roads. High-pressure water pipe equipment storage boxes that connect fire hoses in forests where water supply is difficult are also provided to focus on rapid initial firefighting.
Forest fire prevention and suppression teams are being provided with expanded sets of personal firefighting equipment to enhance the safety of on-site response personnel. The policy is to minimize the spread of flames by spraying approximately 3 tons of eco-friendly forest fire retardant in vulnerable areas.
District Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, "We will create a safe city Gwanak that protects residents' lives and property through proactive ember management and rapid fire response through a smart forest fire surveillance system utilizing AI technology," adding, "I hope visitors to Gwanaksan enjoy the deepening autumn with foliage while following safety rules."
