국가 이미지 제고 위한 공항 대청소
인천국제공항공사(사장 이학재)는 '2025 APEC 정상회의'를 앞두고 국가 이미지 제고와 여객 서비스 만족도 향상을 목표로 'Clean up Airport for APEC' 캠페인을 전개한다고 27일 밝혔다.
22일 인천공항 제2여객터미널 3층에서 열린 캠페인 선포식에는 인천공항공사 김범호 부사장을 비롯해 항공사, 입주 기관 관계자 등 100여 명이 참석했다. 참석한 상주직원들은 청결·안전·미소·협력·품격의 '5대 실천과제' 결의문을 낭독하며 캠페인의 성공적 추진을 다짐했다.
참석자들은 자율주행 청소로봇, 미화 드론, 무인 방역 장비, 빈대 탐지견 등 스마트 환경관리 기술을 시연하고, 공항 인근에서 미화 활동을 직접 시찰하며 공항 상주직원들의 적극적인 캠페인 참여를 독려했다.
14일간 공항 전 구역 집중 청소
이번 캠페인은 지난 9월 22일 대통령이 선포한 '전 국민 대청소 운동'의 일환으로, 인천공항이 대한민국 관문 공항으로서 쾌적한 환경을 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.
공사는 10월 15일부터 28일까지 약 14일간 하루 평균 900명의 인력과 120대의 장비를 투입해 제1·2여객터미널을 비롯한 탑승동, 주차장, 화물터미널, 도로, 자유무역지역 등 공항 전 구역을 재단장할 계획이다.
APEC 정상 및 대표단이 이용할 귀빈실과 의전 동선을 중심으로 시설 점검과 청결 관리를 강화하며, 세계 각국 귀빈이 불편함 없이 공항을 이용할 수 있도록 준비한다.
비상 대응 훈련도 실시
지난 21일에는 공사·자회사·소방대·상업시설 운영자 등 관계자 150여 명이 참여한 '합동 비상 대응 훈련'을 실시해, 공항 내 비상 상황 발생에 대한 대응 역량도 향상시켰다.
김범호 부사장은 "이번 캠페인을 통해 깨끗하고 안전한 인천공항을 조성해 여객들에게 더 만족스러운 서비스를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다"며 "국가의 첫 이미지를 대표하는 공간인 만큼 철저히 준비해, APEC 정상회의의 성공적 개최와 더불어 대한민국 국제 위상 제고에 기여하겠다"고 말했다.

Airport Cleaning to Enhance National Image
Incheon International Airport Corporation (President Lee Hak-jae) announced on the 27th that it will conduct the 'Clean up Airport for APEC' campaign with the goal of enhancing national image and improving passenger service satisfaction ahead of the '2025 APEC Summit'.
About 100 people including Incheon Airport Corporation Vice President Kim Beom-ho, airlines, and tenant organization officials attended the campaign declaration ceremony held on the third floor of Incheon Airport Terminal 2 on the 22nd. The resident employees in attendance read a resolution of the 'Five Action Tasks' of cleanliness, safety, smile, cooperation, and dignity, pledging successful promotion of the campaign.
Attendees demonstrated smart environmental management technologies such as autonomous cleaning robots, cleaning drones, unmanned disinfection equipment, and bedbug detection dogs, and directly inspected cleaning activities near the airport to encourage active campaign participation by airport resident employees.
Intensive Cleaning of All Airport Areas for 14 Days
This campaign was prepared as part of the 'Nationwide Cleaning Campaign' declared by the President on September 22nd, to provide a pleasant environment as Incheon Airport is Korea's gateway airport.
The corporation plans to redecorate all airport areas including Terminals 1 and 2, boarding areas, parking lots, cargo terminals, roads, and free trade zones by deploying an average of 900 personnel and 120 pieces of equipment daily for about 14 days from October 15th to 28th.
Facility inspection and cleanliness management will be strengthened focusing on VIP rooms and protocol routes to be used by APEC leaders and delegations, preparing so that VIPs from around the world can use the airport without inconvenience.
Emergency Response Training Also Conducted
On the 21st, a 'Joint Emergency Response Training' was conducted with about 150 participants including corporation, subsidiaries, fire departments, and commercial facility operators, improving response capabilities for emergency situations within the airport.
Vice President Kim Beom-ho stated, "Through this campaign, we expect to create a clean and safe Incheon Airport and provide more satisfactory services to passengers," adding, "As this is a space representing the nation's first image, we will thoroughly prepare to contribute to the successful hosting of the APEC Summit and enhance Korea's international status."
