박강수 마포구청장은 지난 18일 제18회 마포나루 새우젓축제 현장에서 새우젓 판매소와 먹거리 장터, 지역 특산물 장터를 둘러봤다고 19일 밝혔다. 새우젓 판매소에서 새우젓을 시식한 박 구청장은 "올해 새우젓이 유난히 감칠맛이 좋다"고 말했다. 상인들은 "손님이 많아 힘은 들지만 즐겁다"고 화답했다. 먹거리 장터에는 어묵과 잔치국수, 김치전, 가을 전어 등이 나왔다. 특산물 장터에서는 전국 각지 농·수산물이 진열됐다.
◆ 다회용기 도입...가족 단위 체험행사 인기
마포구는 축제장 전역에 다회용기를 도입했다. 일회용품 대신 다회용기를 사용하는 시민들이 늘었다. 가족 단위 방문객들은 새우 목걸이 만들기, 얼굴 그림(페이스페인팅), 파크 골프 등 체험에 참여했다. 아이들은 버블쇼와 새우잡기 AR게임 등에 열중했다.
◆ "배부르고 행복하게 돌아가길"
박 구청장은 "축제 현장에 오니 새우젓 향도 좋고 주민들의 환한 얼굴을 보니 절로 힘이 난다"며 "오늘 하루만큼은 다이어트는 잠시 잊고 축제를 즐기러 온 모든 분들이 배부르고 행복하게 돌아가셨으면 좋겠다"고 밝혔다.
